Hi Slau,
I would be glad to let everyone use the scripts, but it isn't just that
simple as running a single application. I am a sound engineer myself, not a
programmer. But maybe I can think of something. Here is some more info how
it currently works.
We are running a freeware software called
Hi Jakub,
There are certainly a bunch of helpful aspects to this idea. The integration
with VoiceOver is perhaps a bit of an issue, though. Also, the limitation of 8
tracks is considerable. However, I think that it's great that you're doing
this. Thanks for the explanation of things as they
Slau,
Is there anything specific that springs to mind that can’t currently be
achieved with Logic? I’ve been playing around with it over the last couple of
days and the latest version seems to be very accessible indeed. I haven’t taken
it into the studio yet, but my preliminary findings are
Hi Ashley,
Yes, managing multitrack recording and editing, editing grouped tracks, MIDI
editing. Most importantly, however, as I mentioned before, what the blind Logic
users need more than anything is an expert to know the ins and outs. That, in
my opinion, is currently among the biggest
Hi Jakub,
If a HUI surface isn't required for using your system, I'm sure many of us
would be interested in testing your solution. All of the things you mentioned
are accessible within Pro Tools with VoiceOver but it sounds like there's
potential for better, that is, more immediate feedback of
Seconding what Slau said here. The thing with Logic and GB especially
as well is since it's designed by the same folks that design the OS
and the screen reader a lot of the functionality works the same across
the board. For example the commands for resizing or moving regions
or moving the puck

Hallo friends,
I am not sure if I have actually posted here before, maybe I was just reading
your posts. My name is Jakub and my blind collegue is running a studio based on
the Pro Tools software. He is currently using Pro Tools 9 on OS X Snow
eters being accessible with voice over. HTH

Logic has some great sounds and some promise on the accessibility front. It is
not, however, ready for prime time. One of the main problems is that there are
no Logic experts, nobody using it full time on a daily basis in any sort of
serious way in a studio environment. That's not to say one

Hi Jakub,
It's already been answered by now, but one more hand waving here
voting you toward PT 12.3. A lot of stuff got taken care of by Avid in
the last few versions.
As someone who has a Mackie Control here that doesn't get as much
usage as it should, I'm interested in finding out more about

Hello Jakub,
If I were you, I would go to PT 12.3. There are lots of improvements
concerning the accessibility with Voiceover. You now can read all meters
and displays. The aax format is also accessible, so that you can read
the plugin parameters. The midi event list also is accessible. These
