ok, after doing some googling, it does seem to be
a common term in the broadcast industry.

My friend Chris Gilland had told me that it is called mix minus. So keeping it
at direct monitoring then which audio interfaces have a switch or knob to
either turn on or the direct monitoring of what you are mixing/recording then?

Ron, I've never heard anybody say "mix minus" until you.
Direct monitoring is what it's called.

Pretty much every modern interface these days have some form of direct
monitoring. Some have a button to turn it on or off, others a knob to blend the
exact amount of the incoming signal with playback from the DAW.

What I mean about the Mix Minus is that you can turn off and on the direct
monitoring of what you wan to monitor. Does this make more sense?

Meaning if you want to either turn on the direct monitoring on the signal, so
you do not have any latency in your recording or feedback. For vocals, or
voiceover/podcasting/broadcasting.

I am wanting to do vocals, voice over work, podcasting, and also broadcasting
in general everything and anything you might do with an audio interface/mixer.
Also does any of these contain a control surface?

What sort of workflows are you asking about here? That may help us more
specifically answer your question. Also the zoom L12 mixer may be worth look as
well.
