Personally I’ve always been a Seagate guy, there drives have never let me down
over the years. Nothing wrong with Western Digital, I simply never tried them
before.I mostly have usb 3 drives, though I even have One or two old usb 2
ones lying around.

I went with a Glyph Studio 2TB USB 3 drive. It was recommended by Avid and
after I read the specs I pulled the trigger.

The Glyph drive that I ordered is rated for continual use. If I remember right,
it may also have a fan in the enclosure, hard to remember, I read the specs on
quite a few drives.

Cool. And like Nickus said, Seagates are great. I've just also had good
experiences with Western Digital which, in my case, happened to be HGST, a
company owned by Western Digital.
