Just a word about playlists:
As soon as an audio track is created, it has a playlist called Audio and the
number of the track in the name. If you name the track before recording (as one
should always do), the playlist will now be called whatever you named the
track. So, in other words,
Hi Slau,
Very nice explanation, that's what I thought playlistgs were all about.
Perhaps it's my poor knowledge of the English language, but I still wonder why
the reference guide keeps mentioneing to set ranges in the track's playlist.
Let me quote some examples:
1. select a range in a track's
Frank, I found it. Looks like this would lock me in to PT, but, it does look
cool.

Hi Ronald,
It sounds more complicated than it really is. Let's distinguish between two
things that are very clearly separated in the analog world but are often
confused in the digital world. One is a track and the other is a channel. In a
DAW, the two are often used interchangeably. The Mix
I read the getting started guide again. it helped with a couple of thing.
like when you turn off the rec arm button it does not disable the arming of
the tracks you've selected. So, now I understand why I blue out the bridge.
And the selection buttons have quite a few functions Depending on
Nelson,
I take it that you've never worked with an analog multitrack recorder? Track
record buttons are separate from the transport record button for the ability to
arm and disarm any tracks at any given point along with the ability to be
either in record or playback mode. It's a dual level
In terms of access of course?
I have a 002, and since pt 9 still supports it, am wondering if there is a
seriously compelling reason for a change?
Oh and I did learn that they still keep the preferred gear list including
computer recommendations, can share the link if there is interest.

Slau I've actually have had quite a bit of recording experienced with 24

in the transport. I don't understand why there is a need for the rec
My instructor has the 002r. But I don't know anything about the 002. If it
will help understand how things work together I would love to learn more.

Hi JR,
Since your on midi have you found a way to insert a program change
that actually stays in the track?
I have been poking around the PT midi tracks and can change banks and
program changes.

I now trying to figure out how to copy/move something from the region list
to a midi instrument track. I don't seem to be able to import a midi file
such that it creates a new instrument track. The problem comes when I want
to use Xpand2 instruments to play an existing midi file.

Hi J. R.
I don't have any experience with midi track import but audio track import can
create new tracks with each file you want to import. Try setting the import
options not to region but to new track if it let's you.

Hey man. Just import the midi, let it create new midi tracks, then set up 2 or
3 xpand tracks. You can have 4 tracks per xpand instantiation. So some of your
midi tracks can go to xpand2 1, then more to xpand2 2, and so on. You could
also instantiate the mini grand and set a midi track to it.
Hello all,
I am a user of sonar right now, but I am just curious as to the current
accessibility to protools. What can we do with it now? I don't know if I
would switch right away but I am just looking in to my options. Thanks so much
for the help. Is there any documentation written
