Indeed, you absolutely need a Komplete Kontrol keyboard to access instruments.
The M32 is a good way to go if you do have another full size keyboard as well.
Again, it's a lot to explain. I'm happy to set aside a little time to do a

Re: Kontakt and Orchestral Tools

2019-09-17 Thread John André Lium-Netland
Hi Slau and others,

I’m a little confused, I have installed and enabled the KM macros found in the
PT and Komplete Kontrol drop box.

If I use the shortcuts described for Komplete Kontrol in the Komplete Kontrol
plugin, they somewhat works, but I get an error message saying something like
“macro not matching current window”… I even have tried this in a session
created by the PT KK template.

If I open the Kontakt plugin in a different track, I can not find any shortcuts
that will work with the Kontakt plugin, so wonder if I have installed the
correct macros. I did not have any macros installed for KK or Kontakt before I
did this recent install.

I have Kontakt 6.0.4 AAX plugin and Komplete Kontrol 2.0.5 AAX plugin installed
with PT 2018.12 and Flo Tools 2.2 under El Capitan. My issues can caused by the
fact that this is old software, but thought I would ask in case it’s possible
to solve this temporary until I have upgraded my system.

As the NI products are new to me, I’m also a little confused when it comes to
Komplete Kontrol. Do I need to use the Kontakt Player if I have any of the
Komplete Kontrol versions available, or can I play all Kontakt libraries also
from the Komplete Kontrol plugin? I currently only have the free versions of
the software installed, to make myself a little more comfortable with the
products before I go any further…

My impression so far, is that even though it will be possible to load samples
and instruments, it will not be possible to read the name of loaded instruments
and samples as soon as they are loaded, since we do not have access to the list
of loaded samples. So, at this time, you’ll anyway need one of the Komplete
Kontrol keyboard controllers to have any kind of such feedback, right?

Sorry for all the confusion… :)

Best,
John André

Re: Kontakt and Orchestral Tools

2019-09-13 Thread John André Lium-Netland
Hi Slau,

Thanks for the feedback. Are there any KM macros for Kontakt 6 yet, or should I
uninstall Kontakt 6 and install Kontakt 5 to use the macros found on the
Dropbox instead?

I guess it anyways will be a lot more time consuming to work with than it would
be if I could switch patches by going to the next or previous TFX file….

Best,
John André

I don't personally have experience with any of the Orchestral Tools products.
Typically, Kontakt itself isn't accessible outside of using key switches. One
can certainly use my macros to do stuff like load and batch resave.

If Native Instruments sells these products, that usually means there's some NKS
support. This would be a useful thing to know. However, even NKS support itself
doesn't guarantee that the developer has mapped the product comprehensively.
Unfortunately, library plug-ins don't often come with a demo license so it's
sometimes a bit of a risk. That's where communication with the developer can
often be critical.
Hope that helps a bit,
Slau
