Chris,

Thanks for caring. A long, long time ago I had dreams of a crew of
thousands of PyWikiGnomes, working in teams to curate areas of interest.

While that hasn't happened yet, we can dream. Do feel free to point any
other like-minded individuals our way!

Not really. Wikis are like this... time wounds them, and there's nobody
"assigned to maintain".

Just a personal view: sometimes I'll move an obsolete chunk to its own
section at the bottom of the page with a header that says "this is old
content, links don't work and will be removed eventually unless somebody
resurrects it". Sometimes just throw it out. The wiki is versioned, so
if the decision was wrong, an older version of the page can be recovered.

2018-03-06 Thread wlavrijsen

Chris,

thanks!

For the articles mentioned in the list (about a third into the page (1)), all
of them are ancient (newest from 2003), describing obsolete tech. One link
still works and I was able to find a live link for another. Last one appears
to be completely discarded. Similar for the weave page (2), which refers to
a project that still exists, but is declared obsolete (all links are dead).

Any rules for this, or place to discuss?

Thanks again,
   Wim

Sorry, sometimes a request languishes for a while (if everyone's busy,
or it gets lost in the piles of spam, or something). Go for it! You
should now be an editor.

[pydotorg-www] edit rights to https://wiki.python.org/moin/IntegratingPythonWithOtherLanguages

Hello,

I asked about this last week, but haven't seen a response?

Thanks!

Hello,

following the instructions on:

  https://wiki.python.org/moin/FrontPage

I'd like to ask for edit rights on:

  https://wiki.python.org/moin/IntegratingPythonWithOtherLanguages

My account name is WimLavrijsen and I want to edit/maintain an entry for
cppyy (http://cppyy.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) in the C/C++ list.

I also note that some of the tools on the list are no longer maintained,
and at least two links (CXX and pwig) are dead. I'll be happy to click on
all of the links in the C/C++ section and find out about the fate of the
respective projects, then update accordingly.

Best regards,
   Wim
