[Qgis-user] r.patch fails “Input raster map contains cells with NULL-value (no-data)” (QGIS 2.18)

2018-02-22 Per discussione Terry Morse
In QGIS 2.18.16 with GRASS 7.4.0 (Windows 7, 64 bit), I am trying to create a composite raster layer from two nearly identical versions of a 3-band color geotiff that almost (but not quite perfectly) overlap, using the GRASS tool r.patch. Whether or not I select the "use zero for transparency instead of null," the process fails with the error message:Input raster map contains cells with NULL-value (no-data). The value 255 will be used to represent no-data values in the input map. You can specify a nodata value with the nodata option. WARNING: The default nodata value is present in rasterband and would lead to data loss. Please specify a custom nodata value with the nodata parameter. ERROR: Raster export aborted. Can anyone help me out with how to make this work within QGIS? There doesn't appear to be any way to set the nodata parameter within the r.patch dialogue box. Also, what value should I set it to?Thank you,Terry

This has never been supported - all data defined properties don't
currently play well with the layer tree or map legends (and never
have). Maybe something for 3.2...

La via piu' breve che ti consiglio senza troppi smanettamenti, e' quella di
fare una bella pulizia del tuo Mac, disinstallando la tua versione e
installare la suite boundless 1.1 che puoi trovare a questo link:
https://connect.boundlessgeo.com/docs/desktop/latest/install/osx.html

100
200
300

The best advice is not to update GRASS unless a new point release
version of QGIS has been compiled.

ubuntugis stable has GRASS 7.2.2 for Trusty , see
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugis/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/

If you have already installed a newer version, you have to remove and
purge the downloaded packages, then run sudo apt-cache policy GRASS to
see what is available for you.

Or take QGIS 2.14 and GRASS 7.4 from ubuntugis unstable by disabling
qgis.org.

Nyall, too bad you will not be available to share, timezones are hard to
conciliate. We will publish the recording anyway so that you can still
react afterwards.

I do think this is an exercise we could make at every Community meeting.
Seeing how things change over time would be interesting.

To add to what Stefan said, if you go to Layer Properties, you can save
the style using Save as Default, under the style button.

This will give the style the same name as the shapefile automatically.

Hi Ross,

I noticed something similar when using project colors and referencing them
through the function `project_color(name)`. This works fine in the map but
neither the layer manager nor the legend in the print composer reflect the true
color. I only know this to be true for 2.18, didn't test it with 2.99 yet.

Betreff: [Qgis-user] Data defined @symbol_color outlines

Hi List

This issue (https://issues.qgis.org/issues/15132) refers to using the
@symbol_color function to make the outline of graduated/categorised features
the same colour as the fill. There is a fix by Nyall from over a year ago but
I wonder if there has been a regression?

I am using both the latest 2.99 master and 2.18.16 64-bit versions on Windows 7
and if I render a polygon layer using the categorised or graduated renderer and
set the outline colour using @symbol_color then the legend doesn't reflect the
style shown on the map. The features are rendered correctly (I like using
"darker(@symbol_color,150)") on the map canvas and the print composer but the
legend in the table of contents and on the composer layout show the default
outline colour.

The only way I can get the legend to update is to set the outline/stroke colour
to the fill colour for each category and then make it slightly darker - not too
much of a hassle if there are a few but a hassle if there are more than that.

Can anyone else confirm this? And has there been a regression or was the fix
for something slightly different?

Thanks in advance

Ross
