Hi Carson,
sorry for the lack of information. I use QGIS 1.3.0 on ubuntu 9.10, with
spatialite 1.3.0. I want to retrieve the intersections between the Highways
layer (lines) and the Regions layer (polygons), but the intersection ftools tool
doesn't complaint and gives an empty result layer.
Has anybody used QGIS as a local GIS data catalog engine?
The idea is to be able to:
- view and search data holdings
- get metadata information and storage path to get the data
Any ideas are welcome.

I have had the same problem with southern hemisphere Landsat being
registered as northern hemisphere with negative northings. The best
solution I found was to reproject the image. You can use GDAL with
something like
gdalwarp -t_srs '+proj=utm +zone=34 +south +datum=WGS84' -srcnodata 0
Hi,
there is an idea of QGIS Catalog (similar to ESRI ArcCatalog) in
GIS-Lab community.
We have some concepts but now there is only idea because of lack time and
programmers.
Disscussion in Russian here: http://gis-lab.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27t=3276
and concept in GoogleDocs
Is the forthcoming qgis 1.4.0 windows standalone
version going to lack grass support as the current 1.3.0 version?
Thanks

Hello,
I've just had for the first time possibility to see how labelling plugin
works (Qgis 1.4 r.12167).
Martin - I must say it was fantastic job.
Nevertheless I would like to add some sugestions:
1. Labels without line objects - when we have a line layer with
classificated symbology
and we

That might depend on whether I can get the MSYS/MinGW build I started
working on during the hackfest to work out well. My goal is to get that
Great Alex, I would be interested in testing/reproducing it. I've tried a
lot in the past, then I switched to Linux and I got off the track. Now I'm
back on Windows (mostly) and would be interested into recap the steps to
build qgis+grass indipendently by osgeo4w.
What about QGis? Are you making
I have published the GPS plugin to my plugin repository at:

This was built using the QGisTrackGps plugin as a starting point.
Anyways, this is available for use in QGIS on Windows now and I'd
appreciate it if people would give

Excellent! I think QGIS can very well do this. The ingredients are available.
- use the overview map widget to view the data (vector and raster)
- evis plugin for other data such as geocoded photos, non-geocoded
paper maps, poster maps, etc.
- metadata plugin for metadata viewing or a new
