Hi there,
Re: QGIS 2.14 Force label tool inquiry
I have been working in QGIS 2.14 creating labels for road polylines on a
large 2.5m x 1.8m wall map. I have used the various settings in the
automatic labelling tools as much as I can to get a good labelling result,
and have also been working
Of course. Just like any other legend.

I think it's not difficult to use rules. The good thing is having such a
simple mechanism inside basic sql, without having to use a procedural
language to write functions and triggers to manage views. Although rules
are NOT standard SQL and sometimes, when you discard something for

Thank you Nyall for fixing my "conservative" and unduly generalised

A thought it was an older version, as updatable views handle
rules/sequences with some careful nonchalance, especially for views on a
table only.
Unfortunately no database can handle logic problems at the conceptual

That's not quite correct. Recent versions of postgres make simple
It didn't remember to ask "what version?".
Anyway I think the problem could be due to the sequence.
When you use a "serial" data type, you are asking to the database to create
an integer column with a linked sequence.
When you create a view on the table, it does not know how to deal with the

Hi Carlo.
Thx for response.
I 'm testing better.
But the strange is that the first write was regulrly executed.
If the view was really read-only it should refuse also the first write.
Instead only from the second write I have the error.
And the qgis don't report me a "readonly view.

by default Postgresql views are read only. Even the simplest view made in
Postgresql needs a rule to be updated. After writing a statement for a

Hi,
This is a well know issus with this plugin. The easiest way is to zoom on the
area and to save the image (save as image). Pan and zoom and do this a few
times. Then open these images in Qgis. Keep in mind that there are
limitations on the use of Google Earth images. I wonder if this

In the processing Toolbox there is a tool called Variable Distance Buffer.
If you add a field to your data giving each type a width (field called
bufferwidth and it is 10, 20, 30 , 40 meters for each type) - you can
use that tool to automatically buffer each fault accordingly.
Good Luck!
