Ciao Andrea, by default Postgresql views are read only. Even the simplest view made in Postgresql needs a rule to be updated. After writing a statement for a view, just take the habit of writing the rules for insert, update, delete. Please read the chapter on the Rule System in the Postgresql

In the processing Toolbox there is a tool called Variable Distance Buffer. If you add a field to your data giving each type a width (field called bufferwidth and it is 10, 20, 30 , 40 meters for each type) - you can use that tool to automatically buffer each fault accordingly. Good Luck!
