GhostScript could probably be used to convert the PDF into JPEGs and then you can display those using another program, but it would take ages and is probably not worth the trouble. Sorry Dilwyn not to be able to get this *first* privately to you, but you've accidentally set something in motion following your misunderstanding of what I wrote privately to you. As a re-noobie of only a day I would definitely appreciate a glossary of terms/products new and old, the variety of websites using a plethora of acronyms takes awhile getting used to and is a little confusing. Until you track them down you make assumptions, mainly wrong ones, SBasic for example, and others such as SMSQE and QPC to name a couple more. The Glossary looks good as it is. But might it be useful to include the names of the more commonly used programs, such as QD and TURBO? George I did suggest to John that he has a look at Rich Mellor's QL Wiki to see if there are terms on there we could add (both hardware and software). Certainly, mentioning these commonly used major programs would be useful both for beginners and people returning to the QL after years away from the QL scene. I'm a little wary of producing a glossary just by myself because I write about QL matters all the time, so it would be very helpful if less experienced QLers gave their input on the sorts of terms to include. In time, I'm sure Geoff and Jochen would willingly republish the expanded glossary in QL Today when it's had a good update (the glossary, not QL Today). Now, madam Chairman, have I mentioned the word "Quanta" often enough in public here to earn a nice cup of tea at the next committee meeting??? [Ql-Users] PDF files
I've had an email via Quanta helpline asking if PDF files can be viewed on a QL. Apparently the QL Ghostscript from Jonathan Hudson's site can, but I don't know how it works, .e.g is it text only, does it display the PDF like a PDF reader on another computer would, how recent a PDF file version can it handle?
