This is a minor bother with magazines, but in the grocery store, I've
seen people put items like meat back on a shelf with the cereal or
something like that. I saw one person bring a gallon of milk to someone
else waiting in line. The person waiting in line looked at milk,
decided it was the wrong type, and set it down next to the register.
Did not take it back nor give it to the cashier as a "go back".

As you guys say, bloody lovely.

Confession time!

When I last had an article published in Family Tree Magazine, it was

The power supply is any 5V 700mA mini usb phone charger. The 700 mA
assumes "high power" attachments etc connected to the Pi. You can use a
full sized usb jobby and a usb->mini adaptor. It's all on the web site.

You supply a USB keyboard, USB mouse, Mini-USB power supply and a TV of
HDMI TV/Monitor.

OK, Norman's eRant might be over, but here's mine (a dRant?).

You think there's no copy of a mag left then further down the store
you find it in the wrong place - why is it that when customers decide
they don't want to buy something after all they just leave it where
they're stood rather than put it back where they got it. Must cost
shops a staff member or three just to go around picking the items up
and putting them back in the right place.

And the hassle inside the store only came after wading through Big
Issue sellers, loud buskers (who of course always have a smelly dog or
three), charity collectors and TalkTalk high pressure salespeople.
Throw in a few aggressive "switch your energy supplier" salesmen and
that's Bangor High Street on a saturday morning...WH Smith doesn't
stand a chance!

Any more, anyone?

Durham WH Smiths in the market place used to be terrible for that, on a

while their other half was doing the shopping) Very annoying, I don't buy

[Ql-Users] Printer Ribbon

2012-03-07 Thread Bryan Horstmann
I use an old Fujitsu DL1150 dot matrix printer which does me fine, and
will still work with Vista. It has been difficult to get ribbons; there
is a lot of old, dried out stock around. I've found
www.cartridgesave.co.uk, a small company locally in Stockport with
ribbons, with fair prices including delivery so no shocks at the
checkout. My particular model is "110 chrs" that is it takes A4
landscape and so will print portrait on A3. I find that this gives me
useful extra space for spreadsheets: I used to do an A5 magazine on the
QL too, paired pages together. Unfortunately Vista won't always
recognise this and then insists on turning it round!
