Indeed. Most modern LCD monitors only allow a few Hsync rates. My
Hyundai W220D allows 1024x768 at 60, 70 and 75HZ only (with respective
Vsync at 48.3, 5

I had one more idea. If we restrict the conversion to TFT monitors, this
might provide significant cost/size reduction.
The QL provides a 50 Hz vertical repetition rate, and for TFT this
frequency might be okay. The converter might be able to work without
buffering the whole screen c
