When i use 993 port with ssl it's working thunderbird but 143 is not
working in thunderbird even outlook asking username and password repeatedly.
Shall i use pki/ssl certificate for this.
Please let me know then steps for dovecot conf for certification issue.

When using port 143, you *must* use encryption (TLS/STARTTLS).

It's not working STARTTLS with port 143 when the client can do it (TBird
does).
Whenever open outlook it's asking to install certificate in windows
machine.
How to resolve this. or Do i need to install any certificate in our server
to resolve this.

It is /possible /that this is a squirrelmail problem, it is MORE likely
that a login error is an IMAP error. Even MORE likely given thats what
you changed :).
Try to connect to your server with an IMAP client (like Thunderbird)...
my guess is that it won't work -- you need to make Dovecot use

What do the Apache logs say? I would start looking at the logs to find
out what the exact failure is.
