hi sorry for not being clear if send 500 emails as a list service then it will go together and get in queue almost immediately if send each email separately using a bulk-email tool and then the tools will smtp authenticate with my server first before sending the email, thus there is a time lag b

Btw., I just found something interesting: There seems to be a 'bare-bones' version of one vendor's email marketing solution that is distributed under some sort of Open Source License (CPAL or something like that). Now, I do not know that product, but it may be worth investigating - might save

I've been under the impression that qmail always sends out emails individually. DJB had a thing about multiple recipients, and rightly so (if some are undeliverable and some are not, there's no good way of handling the invalid addresses). In the long run, they all go out separately anyway. You
