Everything we need to do as quadriplegics is always a compromise. My Invacare wheelchair has 2" suspension
which works really well going over door thresholds but cruising down the
sidewalk or a dirt road it does not too much at all. My tires also have the inserts, which
makes for a harder
It isn't a real suspension, but I know what your talking about. I live near a company that makes castors. They have lots of specialty castors including torsion loaded castors and spring loaded. If I could find someone to raise the front castor arms I could try this idea. the big drive wheels in
As I said before, I can't take the hard ride of solid inserts. Every bump
or crack in the sidewalk kills me and the faster I go, the worse it is. I
agree with John, why can't they make a soft insert? And Wheels, was I
dreaming or did they make soft inserts at one time?

LOL. You were either dreaming or the drugs were kickin in. I
don't remember a soft insert.
Insert are big in bicycle racing. They are all hard to ensure that a
racer is not interupted by a flat. Soft inserts would not be effective in
stopping a nail that penetrated the rubber surface.

Air filled suck when they go flat and slime works as long as its a small hole but I've managed to tear open tires and inner tubes. The silid tires ride like junk and then have the nerve to come off on hot summer days. I can't believe nobody has combined a tubeless tire with softfill so if ur

Slime is the best by far.

I tried the solid inserts before and it was like riding with iron wheels. It
killed my back! It didn't take me long to go back to air plus the solid inserts
were very hard to put in and even harder to take out.

Maybe that is why SLIME is so popular and approved. Buy the big
container, and follow the easy instructions.

I used to use air but changed to solid..never ever worry about flats or my wife frustrated having to add airplus they last much longer , the ride is slightly more rough but not much different to most quads. Dan[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:Maybe that is why SLIME is so popular and

I agree with you Danny, cause getting a flat tire verses a little harder riding, I will take the extra punishment which I hardly feel anyways cause I got a numb butt anyways. *LOL*Chet( Cquad7 )C-6/7 Quad since Jan.1,1989 Danny Hearn [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I used to use air but changed
Friday I went out on my daily rides in my chair and got a
flat. I was about a mile away, going through gravel, bump-bump-bump, got to the
concrete and it kept going bump-bump-bump. I knew something was wrong. I had to
call home to get picked up. I called the place my new insurance makes me
I had that happen to me once. The wheelchair company couldn't get there for 3
days.
My son said to get Fix-A-Flat. It worked.
There is a trade off with the new inserts. The air tires provide a smoother
ride
than the solid ones.
