Hi Sergey,
Follow:
vtl:/sys/class/scsi_host/host1 # lspci -nn |grep -i fibre
06:00.0 Fibre Channel [0c04]: Emulex Corporation Saturn-X: LightPulse Fibre
Channel Host Adapter [10df:f100] (rev 03)
06:00.1 Fibre Channel [0c04]: Emulex Corporation Saturn-X: LightPulse Fibre
Channel Host Adapter
AFAIK Qlogic is the only supported option for the frontend connectivity, so
no Qlogic - no VTL access.
In the recent versions ‘Access Management’ tab shows both Emulex and Qlogic
cards as 'Initiator,Target’ - so I might be wrong with the previous
statement - better confirm with the Quadstor Team.
Hi,
You will need a QLogic adapter on the VTL system . 4Gb/s or higher speed
(4/8/16/32 Gb)
The VTL software will not work with Emulex cards

Hi,
Qlogic does not appear but Emulex follows:
vtl:/var/log # dmesg | grep Emulex
[2.633399] Emulex LightPulse Fibre Channel SCSI driver 11.4.0.7-5
[2.634093] scsi host2: Emulex LPe12000 PCIe Fibre Channel Adapter on
PCI bus 06 device 00 irq 16
[4.857366] scsi host10: Emulex
Hi,
Follows the model the driver information...
vtl:/sys/class/scsi_host/host1 # modinfo lpfc |egrep -v 'alias|parm'
filename:
/lib/modules/4.4.180-94.100-default/kernel/drivers/scsi/lpfc/lpfc.ko
version:0:11.4.0.7-5
author: Broadcom
description:Emulex LightPulse Fibre
Hi,
A few other points
1. We are not able to trace the model of the QLogic card installed. Can you
post the output of
lspci
or
lspci | grep -i qlogic
2. The QLogic driver loaded is version 10.x which isn't the version of the
QLogic driver we install. We suggest
rpm -e `rpm -qa | grep
You need a reboot after the VTL software install. That is the only way the
VTL fc driver is picked up and replaces the current qla2xxx driver. Please
try a restart and then rescan for devices again on the TSM server side the
VTL device should appear under /dev/
You can use
Hi,
The VTL server is connected to TSM via Fiber via a SAN, with the command
lsscsi nothing is listed for the vtl server and in /dev there is nothing

Hi,
How is the TSM server connected to the VTL system ? FC or ISCSI ?
On the TSM server please run the following commands
lsscsi >> /tmp/tsm.out
ls -lR /dev/ >> /tmp/tsm.out
Then send us /tmp/tsm.out and maybe also the /var/log/messages file.
Virtual Tape Library (VTL)
I created a vtl with the drives but it doesn't appear on the TSM server /dev
does anyone have a tutorial for this configuration?
