Update to this one, the runners are too short! The way the seats are
mounted is on a pair of L brackets, photo attached. These brackets act in
place of the legs that would normally be on the runners. They're drilled
right next to the 'hump' that the seat floor would just scrape
I’m having a bit of trouble visualising the current arrangement.
When you say they are too short do you mean in height or length ?
Normally on the 2+2 the front fixings are on the vertical face of the “hump” in
the floor using the existing brackets on the front of the Mk2 runners.

Thanks for the extra picture, it makes sense now.
An unusual setup but i guess that was down to the original Rover seats.
If you’d not cut the brackets off the front of the Mk2 runners (which i think
you have) then i’d say get rid of all those brackets, fit the Mk2 runners
directly to the hump
