Hello Johnny,
I believe I can help, although I'm not sure if this will work.
First, go into qws, go to the options menu, select ports. In here is a
list of all midi in and out

Hi Jackie,
Well, perhaps I shouldn't call it an error message as the word
error is not mentioned.
But as soon as I invoke QWS, a dialog box pops up as follows:

Johnny, can u play midi files thru, say, windows media player?
Also, again, do u have skype? This looks as if it could become
protracted, perhaps a skype session might accomplish the task more
quickly than trying to do this via email.

Ok, Johnny:
1) In QWS, go into options, then ports.
Is Microsoft WaveTable there? Is it checked? If not, tick it see if
that doesn't help.

Jackie,
Yes it is there but it was not selected. I down arrowed to it and
hit ok. That got rid of the error dialog box on QWS start-up. But
I tried playing the demo song and got no sound through my computer
speakers. Do you think there is something else I'm missing in
control panel,
Ok, Johnny:
1) Open your song;
2) Go to track menu, then set all ports (alt k, a. Set all to
microsoft, press ok. Make sure the position is set to 0. Now try
playing your track.
If it doesn't play, hit alt enter, then tab to volume put it up at

I can definitely answer one question, and it's the very last one:
Absolutely not!
QWS is totally MIDI only.
So if you have dreams of doing multi-track recording with audio and MIDI, no
kind of raw audio can be edited inside this program.
As to the K2600, can't help you out there.
I don't
Hi Onj,
I am playing with two different computers here. My desktop, which is

Hi Jason,
I understand. Is this where a program like Sonar or GoldWave comes in?
Can one export the midi data from QWS to a program like one of the
ones I name above and do the voice over there?
Thanks,

Johnny, your port is where the midi travels out of your computer
into any sound source u may have from the keyboard back to the
computer.
If your realTech card is your midi out, choose Microsoft WaveTable

Jackie and all,
On my desktop, when I first invoke QWS, I am presented with an error stating:
'Could not open midi out device: Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth'.
And the OK button.
So I seem to be stuck as soon as I hit the ignition.
Do I need to insert a track before I can fix this?
Thanks,
