Re: (RADIATOR) SNMP Version

2003-08-26 Thread Hugh Irvine
Hello Andrew -

You should set up a shell script that does what you require and refer
to it with the SnmpgetProg.

Otherwise check the Net-SNMP documentation.

I have just downloaded the latest source tarball and built it and you
can specify the default SNMP version to use when you build the
distribution. Here is the URL:

	http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/net-snmp/net-snmp-
5.0.8.tar.gz?download

Hugh

Is there an snmpgetargs directive?

Hello Sven -

What you describe below is exactly what we need to know to be able to
code the NasType.

Unfortunately, we do not have *any* NAS gear (suppliers don't give us
anything for development), so we have to rely on customers such as
yourself to get the information that is required.

BTW - even with Cisco it is not easy because of (vast) differences in
IOS versions and configuration differences.

regards

Hugh

2002-08-01 Thread Hugh Irvine

Hello Toomas -

You should check with Redback to see what is possible as far as querying
the device is concerned, as well as what is recorded in the accounting
requests (and the correspondence of course).

I have copied this mail to Onno Becker at Redback who may be able to
help, as there are many of Onno's customers using Radiator already.

Please copy us on what you discover so we can add the correct NasType
code.

Hugh

Re: (RADIATOR) SNMP, Simultaneous-Use and Redback SMS500

2002-08-01 Thread Toomas Kärner

Hi Hugh,

We also use Redback equipment. At the moment we always assume that session
DB is correct, but I'd like to chek also. So far I haven't found a suitable
NasType parameter. Only place where Redback is mentioned in the ref.pdf is
section about dictionaries (v.2.19 & v.3.1). Could you tell us what type
might be most suitable?
I have also the same problem with Unisphere ERX family equipment.

Re: (RADIATOR) SNMP, Simultaneous-Use and Redback SMS500

2002-08-01 Thread Hugh Irvine

Hello Sven -

There are many readers of this list who use Redback equipment, and there
are people at Redback on this list as well.

Radiator maintains one or more session databases (in memory, SQL,
DBM, ...) and tries to keep track of current sessions by using the
accounting starts to add records and accounting stops (and access
requests) to delete records.

The NAS itself is only contacted if Radiator detects what it thinks is a
simultaneous-use exception, and then only if the NasType parameter is
set in the corresponding Client clause(s). In this situation, Radiator
goes through the list of sessions for the particular user and queries
the NAS(s) to verify that the sessions are still active. If any session
has gone away, that record in the session database is deleted and the
connection is allowed to proceed. If on the other hand, all the sessions
are still active, then the connection is rejected.

You will find the mechanisms used to query the different NasTypes in
section 6.5.5 of the Radiator 3.1 reference manual ("doc/ref.html") and
you will find the corresponding code in the "Radius/Nas" directory.

regards

Hugh

Hello Kenya -

You are correct, is part of the radiusd process, so it is
unavailable if radiusd is unavailable.

You should consider our Radar product as the tool of choice to monitor any
number of Radiator processes on any number of hosts.

(RADIATOR) SNMP Agent

2002-07-10 Thread Kenya Noshiro

I am currently thinking of monitoring Radiator active status
by NMS sending snmptrap to NMS.

I have configured clause and get MIB OID
when I try snmpwalk and snmpget from manager.

Could you tell me which MIB OID defines Radiator active
status like process up and down?

And if I stop Radiator process, how can Radiator still send
snmptrap to NMS?
It looks as though, SNMP Agent goes down when I stop Radiator itself.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Kenya Noshiro

No. The misspelled came from a "hand" substitution of the real community
name (obvious reason). But it doesn't matter what I put on
SNMPCommunity. I get this error

The code related to it is on

my $result = &Radius::SNMP::snmpget($nas_id,
 $client->{SNMPCommunity},

and radius is acting like $usr_if_ix has my 'comunity' name as value.

/usr/local/bin/snmpwalk xx.xx.xx.xx

Hugh:
I am running it on :
OS: Solaris 8
Radiator3.0
and I installed ucd-snmp-4.2.4.pre2 to do SNMP queries.

It is odd since I have several scripts with snmpwalk that consults our NAS.

Re: (RADIATOR) SNMP config (also X please)

Hello Tunde -

Here is an extract from the manual:

SNMPAgent requires SNMP_Session-0.68.tar.gz or later from
ftp://ftp.switch.ch/software/sources/network/snmp/perl/ to be installed
first. Tested with versions up to version SNMP_Session-0.83.

Please have a look at section 6.14 ("doc/ref.html").

Also - if you have messages appearing from Radiator indicating what is wrong,
please include them in your email so I can see them.

RE: (RADIATOR) SNMP config (also X please)

2002-03-06 Thread Muhammed, Rafi

Two things

1. Redhat 7.2 should be running at level 5 (/etc/inittab - initstate 5) to
spawn kdm
2. On Radhat XDMCP is disabled by default for network clients. You have to
enable it in /etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess

Hope that helps

to use an Oracle DB for authentication.
But I can't seem to be able to get it to use SNMP.
The snmp program is installed by
default in RedHat 7.2 (/etc/snmp) but I don't know
even the first thing to do to configure
it. Can someone give me a simple
config?
Currently, the SNMP section of my radius.cfg looks
like (the default):

rocommunity
RadiatorCommunity
Port
162
Radiator just complains about it so I have
commented it out for the time being.

Okay, I know this is not the forum for Xwindows,
but I do desparately need help - may be
there is an X guru out there :-)

I am trying to get a RedHat Linux 7.2 box to display a GUI login screen
remotely.
I have been at it forever and I still can't make it work - not even from
one RedHat box
to another!

My problem is to get RedHat Linux to display the kde LOGON screen remotely on an
X server running on a Windows 2000 box. As I can make out from
hitting tens on web
pages, there is not list of commands stated to use to do this.
I have tried Xwin32, MIX server, XThinPro, Omni-X
etc.
With some of them I get the cryptic "too many retransmission..."
message.
I have done all the Xaccess and Xserver bits.

Are you familiar with any of the windows Xservers above, or do you no
one that works? I was able to get XThinPro (from LabTam Inc.) to
display
the Solaris 8 login screen - why not redhat?

Please HELP.

Regards
Tunde Itayemi.

NB: I can make it to display xterm, xload etc on my
windows Xserver,
but not the login screen. Currently, the Linux
boxes are setup with KDE

Have you installed the SNMP_session module? Section 6.14 in the Radiator 2.19

No - as long as you have have cleartext passwords in your database, PAP,
CHAP, MS-CHAP are all handled automatically.

As long as the passwords in the database are plain text, you can use whatever
authentication method you like.

(RADIATOR) SNMP agent, CHAP and Radiator

2002-02-22 Thread Tunde Itayemi

Hi All,
Please I have some questions.
1. I haven't been able to configure the SNMP agent
section of the radius.cfg file.
the default is:
SNMP
rocommunity
RadiatorCommunity
Port
162
I have a RedHat 7.2 system (server
installation).
I have taken a look at the snmp configuration file
(/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf) but can't
make head or tail of what modifications to make. If
I start radiator with the default
config, it complians of the "community" entry in
the radius.cfg file.

2. Radiator/CHAP/PAP and NASes
I work for an ISP and we are trying to "migrate"
away from Windows 2000 server as
our authentication patform. For now, I have
radiator installed on a RedHat 7.2 system
configured to authenticate against a remote Oracle
database. My problem is as below.
The database contains plaintext user passwords. If
my users configure their dialups
to use CHAP, would I still be able to authenticate
them correctly? Currently, the Windows
2000 server is "properly" configured - under the
security tab, when you select RAS
properties, I have selected PAP alone as the
authentication method.
    a. Now, assume the dialup $ VPN
connections on my client machines are set up with

CHAP/MSCHAP, do I need to make any changes?
    b. The
RAS->Properties->Security->Authentication method->PAP/EAP/CHAP etc
setting -
        does it imply
the exchange of password data between Win2K and Radiator OR
        user and
Win2K OR ALL three?

My desired objective is to allow my dialup clients
to configure their systems to use CHAP,
while I keep my Oracle database with user passwords
as plain text.

Thanks.
Tunde Itayemi.

Re: Fwd: Re: (RADIATOR) SNMP Agent, Openlink, Oracle and Radiator

2002-02-19 Thread Mike McCauley

Hi All,

After a long struggle with Oracle, I can add some more to this thread.

I was able to reproduce what seems like the same problem reported here with
Oracle 9i on RedHat 7.1. The symptoms during the Oracle installation included
a number of reported errrors during the link phase of the installation. Later
when building DBD-Oracle-1.12, no errors were reported, but when trying to
connect using DBD-Oracle, it reported problems with missing libraries.

The fine print in the Oracle release notes says Oracle is actually only
certified for SuSE Linux 7.1 with particular versions of kernel, glibc and
binutils.

However closer investigation shows that it _is_ possible to avoid the install
problems on RH 7.1 and get a dynamically linked DBD-Oracle.

The cause of the linking problems (on my host at least) is a failure to
correctly build one of the libraries at link time.

The solution is discussed at:
http://dbforums.com/archive/49/2001/11/1/193916

I have confirmed that after this you can build a dynalically linked
DBD-Oracle that loads and works.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.

Its Monday morning here in Australia.

Normally if you are using Oracle with DBI and DBD-Oracle, you do not use ODBC
at all - you just need the Oracle client libraries. If you do want to use
ODBD, you would use DBI and DBD-ODBC.

You will have to check the Openlink ODBC documentation to see how to
configure it for use with various databases.

(RADIATOR) SNMP Agent, Openlink, Oracle and Radiator

2002-02-16 Thread Tunde Itayemi

Hi All,

I have installed Openlink's ODBC driver for
Linux on my Redhat 7.2 system.
I have also tested it. I have also installed Oracle
9i client on the same system
with a view to implementing the DBI/Oracle DBD
connection as I want to
use a remote database for authentication. Please,
with respect to Openlink's
software, How do I reference the DSN in the
radius.cfg file? Do I just put the
DSN's name in the DBI clause? - I don't think this
would work though.
Is there anything I need to know about the Perl
DBD/DBI before installing it?
I have the files DBI-1.21.tar.gz and
DBD-Oracle-1.12.tar.gz and I am just about
to install them.

I hope to hear from you soon as I should have the
system up and running before
Monday - today is Saturday in Nigeria.

Regards,
Tunde Itayemi.

Side Note: I also noticed that there was a bug in Nas.pm (Discussed on

applied the patched version...hopefully this will solve the problem.

Re: (RADIATOR) SNMP problem with PM3..

2002-01-07 Thread Hugh Irvine

Hello Michael -

The SNMP query is not run for every access request - it is only run if there
is a session limit exceeded according to the session database. The problem
with simultaneous use checking is that in many cases the information received
from the NAS in the radius accounting requests is different from the
information for the same session returned by an SNMP query.

(RADIATOR) SNMP problem with PM3..

2002-01-07 Thread Michael Bellears

Hi,

This has been discussed on the list before, but I cannot seem to find a
resolution ;)

One of our clients has Radiator 2.18 with Radmin 1.5 running on Debian
Linux 2.2, using PM3 NAS's.

Denying Simultaneous use has never worked when clients connect with
multilink ISDN connections - I now see that the SNMP query has stopped
for some reason -> (The following user has max simultaneous logins set
to 4)

Re: (RADIATOR) SNMP not correctly identifying multiple logins

2002-01-06 Thread Hugh Irvine

Hello David -

There are also NasType entries for PM3 and PM4 - have you tried those?

I also seem to recall this topic being discussed on the mailing list, so
check the archive and do a search.

www.open.com.au/archives/radiator

It is certain that if the SNMP query cannot be run manually, Radiator will
not be able to use it either.

Hugh

(RADIATOR) SNMP not correctly identifying multiple logins

2002-01-04 Thread David Miller

Hi all:
Have been relying on a session database to enforce multiple login limits,
but after our data link provider experienced a temporary routing problem
that left the
session database out of sync with the actual users connected, decided a
little more robust
solution was in order.
Have been attempting to use the snmpget program to verify multiple login
violations
with the Livingston Portmaster NASes (PM25 and PM3). These NASes service
channelized T1
lines. The snmpget program is getting called as shown in the trace below,
but multiple
logins are not getting correctly identified. Logging into the NAS shows
the sessions were still actually active. Have tried various settings for the
LivingstonHole and LivingstonOffs parameters, but to no avail.
Radiator (version 2.18.4) is running on RedHat Linux 7.1, snmpget program
is from
ucd-snmp-4.2.1-4.7.x rpm from sourceforge. I know these are not the most
current versions
of Radiator, and snmp (plan to upgrade as soon as we finish a move to new
facilities).

Running the first snmpget command shown in the trace from the command line
results
in the following output (community string sanitized):

[root@dns2 radiator]# snmpget 204.250.116.14 xxx
.iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.307.2.1.1.1.2.5
Error in packet
Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB.
Failed object: enterprises.307.2.1.1.1.2.5

Please forgive my ignorance of snmp, just starting to get my feet wet.
Please let me know if I can supply any additional information. Any insights
would be appreciated.

David Miller

The UCD-SNMP project has moved to SourceForge and been renamed NET-SNMP.
You should use NET-SNMP.

(RADIATOR) SNMP problem

2002-01-01 Thread hakim

hello!!!
I have installed the SNMP module from http://sourceforge.net/projects/net-snmp/

there seems to be a strange problem.
When the radiator tries to query for multiple logins, irrespective of whether the user
is online.. it deletes the exisiting RADONLINE entry.. and inserts the new request.

this leads to mutlipel sessions...

by other way... there is NET-SNMP and UCD-SNMP ... which one is supposed to installed.

I am having radiator installed on W2K.

best regards

What NasType have you got in the Client clause?

2001-12-01 Thread Ujwol Manandhar

Hi,
I had upgraded to Radiator 2.19 earlier. But now I'm facing some problem
with Livingston PM. It is not checking the double login correctly. It
allows double login and in log it says
NOTICE: SessSQL Session for gfktm at 202.52.251.157:15 has gone away.
Sorry not trace 4 log.
But I'm not facing any problem with cisco. Earlier with 2.18.4, it was
fine. So I had to revert back to it. Is there anything to it?

Are you on a windows system? I've seen really weird SNMP trafic on these...
e.g. HP's network printers and other devices speak SNMP with agents on PC's
and expect to see the "public" community everywhere...

If that is your case, it might be better if you run Radiator's SNMP agent on
a non-standard port so it doesn't interact with other SNMP processes... In
fact, I even do this on Unix, since I use SNMP to monitor Radiator as well as
other stuff provided by OS agents. I'm also using SNMP to restart Radiator
and it works OK.

Re: (RADIATOR) SNMP Agent

2001-11-12 Thread Hugh Irvine

Hello Andrew -

I suspect there is some SNMP program on your Radiator host that is sending
SNMP requests that Radiator is rejecting because the community strings are
different.

To say any more, I will need to see a copy of the configuration file and a
trace 4 debug showing what is going on.

You could try using snoop or tcpdump (or your favourite packet sniffer) to
see what SNMP requests are flying around.

regards

Hugh

(RADIATOR) SNMP Agent

2001-11-12 Thread Andrew

Hi All,

I am a Radiator newbie and am wondering if somebody can provide me with some
insight into the SNMP Agent.
I have enabled the agent in my config file with a community other than
'public'.
However, my 'logfile' keeps filling up with;
WARNING: SNMPAgent: wrong community: 'public'. Request from 202.xxx.xxx.xxx
ignored (that ip address is the localhost)
I can't seem to figure out what's generating the request here.

Regards,
Andrew.

The error is appearning in the terminal window in which the radiator is running
(windows 2000)!

Hello Hakim -

Thanks for sending the trace file.

The messages that you show below are not from Radiator - where are they from?

I am guessing that there is something wrong with the installation of the
ucd-snmp package. Note this package is now called net-snmp and is found on
Sourceforge (www.sourceforge.net).

Hugh

(RADIATOR) SNMP Error

2001-10-17 Thread hakim

hi!!!
I have begun to face this error from nowhere...
the radius was working fine... had installed all the required modules.. the SNMP
module too...
when i restarted radius it began to show me the following dump... inspite of this the
radius is working. But my radonline table sometimes shows more users than the router's
capacity. For eg:- radonline shows 580 users where as the total lines are only 480. I
can feel its the SNMP error which is causing this...

any suggestions on what should be done!

This is from section 6.13 in the Radiator 2.18.2 reference manual:

SNMPAgent requires SNMP_Session-0.68.tar.gz or later from
ftp://ftp.switch.ch/software/sources/network/snmp/perl/ to be installed
first. Tested with versions up to version SNMP_Session-0.83

You will have to check on the ActiveState web pages to see if they have a
copy of this module, otherwise you will have to build it yourself.

Thank you very much for the quick response.

I understand what you said. Another question is does Radiator, once doing
an SNMP check, update the session (SQL) database if it discovers that
indeed the user is not really currently logged in and should be allowed to?
In other words, does ut go ahead and delete the entry out of the session
database and replace it with the correct one?

Again, my thanks!

I will be having several more questions involving Radiator and wonder if it
is more proper to purchase email support? I don't know what your reasonable
limit is for lots of questions. I plan to ask more about Reply-Items.

Thanks in advance!

Any of the NAS-Type checks (including SNMP) only ever does a direct check
when Radiator determines that a simultaneous use limit has been exceeded. In
other words, the NAS's are never queried except when a user exceeds his limit
(or at least seems to according to Radiator). When this occurs, Radiator goes
through the list of connections for this specific user (from whichever
session database, internal or external) and checks only those NAS's shown to
have a connection for the user, to verify that the connection is still there.
If the connection has indeed gone away, then the entry is removed from the
session database.

Given the above scenario, there is no need to query all of your PM3's.

You will get the same picture from either an external or an internal session
database.

> 3. How bad are the hits of constant SNMP queries to my PortMasters?
>

As described above, the queries are not constant, however the question is a
good one although for a different reason. You won't slow your NAS down with
SNMP queries, however you can cause a real performance hit on Radiator if the
SNMP queries take a long time to execute, as Radiator waits for the reply.

Note that the usual reason for this type of problem is almost always lost
radius accounting stop records, either due to congested links (easily fixed
with more bandwidth) or NAS bugs (easily dealt with by upgrading your NAS
software).

My recommendation in this situation is always to do some thorough debugging
using the trace 4 debug in Radiator together with tcpdump/snoop/sniffer
packet tracing on the wire(s) to ascertain exactly what is happening.

Also note that there is no silver bullet available either, the problem you
describe is simply due to the design of the radius protocol which is based on
UDP, in which packets can and do go missing from time to time.

(RADIATOR) SNMP Support Questions

2000-12-26 Thread Timothy G. Wells

Greetings,

I currently use a mySQL session for using with multiple NAS's but I only
use a single Radiator server. Every now and then users are kept from
logging in because the sql is out of sync and a user has actually logged
off but is still in the database. So I'm thinking of using either SNMP
and/or internal tables.

The questions are:

1. Does the SNMP query all NAS' or just the one the new requested
connection is coming from? If just the single NAS, is there a way to have
them all be queried (4 PM3's)?

2. I thought about using Radiator's internal session database but I would
like to query it for users since I wrote a web interface to the current
database session and be able to disconnect folks, etc. So, can the
SNMPAgent show all logged in users according to Radiator's internal session
database?

3. How bad are the hits of constant SNMP queries to my PortMasters?

Thanks,

-- Tim Wells

A long-time and happy user!

It is probably simpler to create a script that is called by the "SnmpgetProg"
parameter, and put whatever parameters you want in the script.

You should also carefully consider the wisdom of using SNMP at all if you are
experiencing packet loss and resultant unreliablity.

(RADIATOR) SNMP queries to NASes

2000-10-17 Thread Antonio José Antón

Hello,

We are experiencing radius authentication packets retransmisions due to
slow response from NASes (and possibly SNMP packets drops in the
backbone).

The problem appears when Radiator makes a SNMP query to a NAS with
snmpget command, and no answer is received (or received too late). This
action blocks the next radius authentication packets that are arriving
at Radiator. They are queued and eventually dropped or retransmitted to
Radiator from a proxy-radius.

We think that the problem could be solved when we change the timeout
period (3 seconds) and the # or retries (2) that the snmpget command has
defined by default (when a SNMP query to a NAS fails, Radiator locks 6
seconds!!!). Changing that parameters could make another problem when
Radiator is checking a simultaneous-use of a user if snmpget fails to
respond "on-time" that users can connect twice or more. This is less
problematic that the first.

In radiator.cfg there aren't parameters to change this behavior of
snmpget, aren't it? so we think we need to modify the source code of
Radiator (SNMP.pm), the subs snmpget and snmpwalk to introduce -r
-t to the command line that calls snmpget.

Do you think we can do this change? Do you recommend that?

Thanks in advance,

Anton

Have you installed this:

SNMPAgent requires SNMP_Session-0.62.tar.gz from
ftp://ftp.switch.ch/software/sources/network/snmp/perl/ to be installed first.

(RADIATOR) SNMP, security and performance idea?

2000-09-26 Thread David Lloyd

Have the Radiator folks considered using the Perl Net::SNMP module
instead of an external snmpget program? There are many advantages to
this approach; for one thing, you don't have to run an external program
as Net::SNMP is written fully in Perl. That improves performance by
eliminating a fork, as well as improving security and reliability by
pulling the SNMP code into the daemon itself.

For people who use the SessionDatabase feature, this would be a huge
benefit... :-)

Change the SNMPAgent port number. Section 6.12.1 in the Radiator 2.16.1

(RADIATOR) SNMP and two radiators

2000-06-16 Thread antonio . coloma

Hi everybody!

I want to run two instances of Radiator, one for Acct and one for
Auth. Actually I have running 1 radiator with SNMPAgent clause.

When I run two radiators, second Radiator instance tells me:

Fri Jun 16 16:43:54 2000: ERR: Could not open SNMP Agent port 165 on
192.168.0.3: Bad file number

How can I collect SNMP statistics from Radiator running two instances of this?

Acct in one port and Auth in other?

Thanx a lot.

Hello Hugh,

I used to have the same problem and changed the MIB path(.iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.9) to its numerical value (.1.3.6.1.4.1.9) in NAS.pm .

I do not get any noSuchName error anymore...

But this did not make any sense to me!!!

Yes - this is a well-known problem with Cisco's. If anyone can tell us how to
correlate the accounting attributes to an SNMP query for ISDN ports (or anything
else for that matter) we'll fix it.

(RADIATOR) SNMP session check for Cisco ISDN (Sync PPP) users

2000-02-18 Thread Nikos Aslanakis

We have a problem when radiator tries to double check a Cisco NAS using SNMP
for an ISDN user.
While it checks correctly all the NAS ports that are used for Async
connections (analog dialup), when it tries to check the ports that are used
for ISDN connections (normally ports 2 and up), it fails allowing the
same user to be connected twice.

Here is the logfile output for the first attept. Note the NAS port (20101):

Fri Feb 18 10:09:04 2000: DEBUG: Handling request with Handler

I would appreciate any help.

Radiator will only query the NAS when it absolutely needs to - that is when it
already has the allowable number of sessions for a user and that user wants to
log in again. In this case, Radiator will only check the entries in the session

I don't think you are doing anything wrong, but perhaps it isn't clear what
should happen with Simultaneous-Use.

The first thing is you have to specify is a NasType for the Client - you have
done this. Then you have to somehow tell Radiator to check the number of
sessions that a user is allowed. You do this with one or the other of
MaxSessions, DefaultSimultaneousUse or a per-user Simultaneous-Use check item.
Once the Sim-Use checking is configured, Radiator will only check the existing
sessions that the Session Database has for a user if that user is going to
exceed his Sim-Use limit. In other words, Radiator only checks the NAS if it
absolutely has to, not every time.

Hope this clarifies things.

cheers

Hello!

I've been trying to use SNMP method of checking NASes if user still

requests, and it does work if I say "snmpget usr radcheck ". But
when I set up RADIATOR to use SNMP - it just doesn't work. I set up a
CLIENT section:

SnmpgetProg /usr/bin/snmpget

Secret secret
IgnoreAcctSignature
NoIgnoreDuplicates Access-Request
NasType TotalControlSNMP
SNMPCommunity radcheck

and ran "tcpdump -n -i eth0 port 161" to see if there is any activity
on SNMP port. There is no any activity. I tried to set up a Client
section for my Cisco 3640 - the same effect (i.e. no effect at all).

  What I do wrong?

(RADIATOR) Radiator SNMP Problems

1999-10-08 Thread Kurt Richter

I'm trying to implement the SNMPAgent feature of Radiator-2.14.1. Following
is my radius.cfg file.

LogDir /usr/adm/radacct
DbDir /etc/raddb
LogFile /usr/adm/radacct/radius.log
DictionaryFile /etc/raddb/dictionary.all

# You will probably want to change this to suit your site.

Secret  {removed for security reasons}
DupInterval 0

Community {removed for security reasons}

Facility local5
Trace 4

Identifier SDB1
DBSource{removed for security reasons}
DBUsername  {removed for security reasons}
DBAuth  {removed for security reasons}

RewriteUsername s/^P//
RewriteUsername s/^([^@]+).*/$1/
RewriteUsername tr/A-Z/a-z/

PasswordLogFileName /usr/adm/radacct/passwd.log
AuthByPolicy ContinueWhileAccept

Filename /etc/raddb/users
AcceptIfMissing

# Change DBSource, DBUsername, DBAuth for your database
# See the reference manual
DBSource{removed for security reasons}
DBUsername  {removed for security reasons}
DBAuth  {removed for security reasons}

Host 209.84.160.63
Secret {removed for security reasons}
Retries 10
RetryTimeout 15

When I start radiusd, I get the following error message on the screen, and
no SNMP info available.

"my" variable $value masks earlier declaration in same scope at
/usr/libdata/perl5/site_perl/Radius/Mib.pm line 303, chunk 12
.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I've done wrong?

When you set the NasType in a Client clause to Cisco, Radiator will attempt to
execute the snmpget program to query the NAS. By default, Radiator will look for
the snmpget program in /usr/bin, but this can be altered with the SnmpgetProg
global parameter. See Section 6.3.13 in the Radiator 2.14.1 reference manual.
Note that you will also have to configure the NAS to respond to SNMP queries.

Mon Sep 13 09:53:29 1999: ERR: /usr/bin/snmpget is not executable. Check
and configure Nas.pm
Mon Sep 13 09:53:34 1999: ERR: /usr/bin/snmpget is not executable. Check

I have news from Cisco about the periodic Radius accounting including
packets and bytes amounts. The bug is resolved and the feature will be
integred in 12.0(6)T. With this feature will be posible to have sessions
databases with byte and packet counters.

Cheers.

Craig, I think you are on an error or it is a bug in the IOS version
that you use. I ever receive Stop record when I terminate a session with
"clear interface", doing the clear over the physical interface (
Serialx/y:b, brix/y:b and async x ), or over the virtual-access
interface if you use this feature.

All my NAS are running now 11.3(10)T, and platforms are 36xx and 26xx. I
also receive all the stop records if I shutdown the PRI/E1 controllers
or the D channel interfaces ( Serialx/y:15 in E1 PRI's and Brix/y in
BRI's ), terminating in this case all the sessions in this PRI or BRI.

ah. thanks, just what i wanted to know. i'll have to enable RW snmp
access on the boxes.

most of our 5200s are 11.2, only the newest two are 11.3. any idea if
it works properly with 11.2?
