at such a heavily inflated price. What stopped them from using a one of the standard Li battery pack with a thermisistor on the pack or in the battery bay.. This is worse than what Logitech used to charge for mouse driver "upgrades" --

one by default... they too were originally using rdate to their own servers but had issues with peoples firewalls blocking the rdate port.. though you could cron it on that device however (hint: blue octopus) My bad.. What i typed and what i was thinking weren't quite the same --

rdate... This is not the first linux appliance with date/time issues that uses busybox... eventually an NTP client was integrated into busybox, and an NTPd is in the next firmware release... You can have a lean NTP client... -- joltdude

Im curious does the Squeezebox see Broadcast NTP packets and update its clock accordingly?... I can understand why the person would want the Squeezebox to run NTPD.. I'v seen many times when the squeezebox is off by 2-3 minutes on the network. -- jol
