Is this what you are talking about?
If yes, should I change the last one to "cache HTTPS streams on disk" ?

Thank you for this tip and apologies for late reply. Procrastination is
my friend, unfortunately.
Anyway, I just tried the URL through my LMS, it works, but is playing
some bluegrass (or something similar) music.
Is the URL correct or is there something else I need to do?

Just read that stuff.first..thank you very much POMdev for
the excellent and tedious work you have done in trying to identify and
mitigate SB radios wifi issue!
In short, it looks like there is no real solution at this point :-(
Wlanpoke does not work for my particular situation -
So I created a new totally seperate SSID on my Ruckus R550 access point
just for these 2 SB radios. I disabled ALL the fancy stuff I could on
that SSID like WPA3, WiFi6, etc.
Connected the SB radio to that SSIDhoping for some improvement.
Alas, it behaves exactly like my regular SSID.
now THAT is exactly what I was thinking.
I want to hack the SB radio, add a USB jack in its back which provides 5
volts.
Should be super easy. I bet it already has 5 V inside it, all I need to
do it to find and tap into it. Worst case, I could add a LM7805 IC and
viola!

H, I wonder channel optimization can be turned off?
Frankly, I am REALLY tired of this wifi issue. I have wlanpoke working
on the two SB radios I have. While it does help, I do miss parts of the
news broadcast when the disconnect happens. It is VERY annoying to have
it happen right in the
AFAIK. WiFi6 is a protocolit can work on on 2.4 GHz and/or 5
GHz bands. My router has option to turn Wifi 6 on/off on those two bands
individually. But that did not make any difference in my XT8 mesh
system. When I deleted the mesh the SB radios able to connect to the XT8

yeah I had a similar experience.
The mesh surely was causing the problembut IMHO WiFi6 is NOT the
problem, mesh is.
I switched to a standalone WiFi 6 router (Asus RT-AX3000)worked

Well, for backwards compatibility, no router will (should) have this
mode on by default. In my experience with two different WiFi6 routers,
neither were set out of box to ONLY AX.
That would be strange, because none of the older machines will
workvery few clients do AX...I have only two
here and want them to last
forever!
Every day, they are the first thing we switch on, play NPR on them all
day long and the last thing, usually, we turn off.

My take is our beloved devices are now super old devices and have
compatibility issues with newer routers.
You could try disabling WiFi6 (if you do not need it, e.g. if you really
do not have any WiFi6 capable client).that may resolve the
problem..like it did for my XT8 pair.
All I can say that it looks like that the higher end models from Asus
have some issue. My AX3000 aka AX-58U is set to auto and has no issues.
I know, I know, they say set the channel manually but it works fine for
me.
At first, I thought that the AX86U is tri band (like the XT8) and that
is
anyway)
It still works fine!
Same setting on the XT8 pair never worked.
So I called it a day and returned my XT8 mesh set.

Here is an update from me:
YESTERDAY:
I turned off the Smart connect on the XT8 and immediately the SB radios
started working reliably. Then I thought I would prove it to myself that
"Smart Connect" is the problem...by re-enabling smart connect. Did that,
and interesting, the SB radios did

I was wondering if you were able to find a solution to compatibility
between the AX3000 and the SB radios?
Asking because I have two radios and want to buy a AX3000
Happy new year..well not so happy so far, because for
testing purposes.I factory reset the XT8 units and now no matter
what I do, the SB radios cannot stay connected to them. They disconnect
in 5-10 minutes.just like they used to.
I have not tried placing the
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Here is an interesting update:
For some unknown reason, the two SB radios are now able to connect to
the XT8. I have done no setting changes, but did do this little
experiment:
I powered on my old Router, a Netgear R8000, connected it to XT8 and
placed it side by side to the
Any update?
I have so far not been able to find any solutionso I pretty sure I
will have to return the XT8 duo.
I do want to try out what you have been doingrunning a second router
cascaded AFTER the XT8 and seeing what happens to the radios.

Oh! So I am in exactly the same boatother than the fact that my SB
radios do work for 5-10 minutes before disconnecting with the XT8.
But wait...so you are doing so much work (testing) with the XT8s or
the old router as an AP?
Auth?.I am using just WPA2-personal with AES

Hello,
I saw your post in the other forum. Thanks for testing the options so
thoroughly. Maybe we will get to the bottom of the problem. For what it
is worth, my SB radio to wifi problems started only after I switched the
router to a mesh router system.. same as yours... Asus XT8. However,
Well, I just connected and tested those two devices with the XT8.
Chromecast audio connects to 5 GHz
Chromecast TV connects to 2.4 GHz only
Looks like they have stable connection.
There! I jinxed it! LoL
Will keep an eye on them though.
What problem did you face, BTW?

yeah, I also have the exact same problem. Two Squeezebox Radios plus two
Asus XT8 routers in mesh config. The only way to make the radios stay
connected is to disable WiFi 6.
I have tested all the options posted above and then some, nothing helps.
Now I have a case open with Asus. The guys on
