[RBASE-L] - Rbase X5 to 11

2024-03-18 Thread Tom Hart
Just installed 11 on a new computer and when I run a compiled app something
does not work. I capture the computer name in a variable on startup and if
a row does not exist(form new computer) a form will popup with the computer
name in the field on the form. This has worked for the last 10+ years but
now it will not put the computer name in the field. This is the code I use

SET VAR vcompname = (CVAL('computer'))
SET VAR vrows INTEGER = 0
SELECT COUNT(*) INTO vrows INDICATOR ivrows FROM storecomputer +
WHERE compname = .vcompname
IF vrows = 0 THEN
  ENTER USING aacompinform
ENDIF
RETURN

Basically if the row does not exist it adds new. It works fine on the old
computer with X5

[RBASE-L] - External forms

2020-10-28 Thread Tom Hart
I have been compiling my main menu app(external form) which includes other
external forms and each time I change one of the external forms I have to
recompile the app. If the external forms are in the same folder can I run
the app by just copying the new updated external form to that directory

Re: [RBASE-L] - Send and receive SMS

2020-05-17 Thread Tom Hart
I send text by email, if you know the cell phone provider and email then
you send email to:
Client phone number@sms email. Example

Client number is 9181234567 then

9181234...@vtext.com(which for Verizon)

You can Google the emails

[RBASE-L] - Form question

2017-03-04 Thread Tom Hart
I upgraded to XE and am going thru my database to update and make some
visual enhancements(after about 8-10 years) and have a question. My users
use touchscreens with various menus having numerous buttons to select data
to fill in orders, each customized for each user. E.G. one menu for sizes,
one for color, one for description, etc. For each category there is a
table with user id and columns for each item. I have been using a dbmemo
for each button which works fine as shown below:

I have also been experimenting with using a bit button and changing the
caption as below
There may be 10-15 sessions using these running at anytime and the dbmemo
works great and is very efficient, but I like the bit button approach
because it looks better. Is my new approach as efficient and using the
dbmemo.

[RBASE-L] - Still stumped

2017-02-08 Thread Tom Hart
I am going to post this again because I am totally stumped. Very simply I
am trying to print a report directly to the printer using an external form
as follows:

PRINT PR_Testreport OPTION PRINTER
return

This works fine from R>, but pulls up the Print Preview screen if run from
a compiled version. I do nothing execpt compile the external form(the one
that runs correctly form R>). Any ideas

2017-02-07 Thread Tom Hart
Razz,
I am really lost on what is happening, could I see your code for the
printer dialog, because I checked everything I know. My sample app I
created only has 1 report and 1 external form so I do not know what other
resources I would need.

Re: [RBASE-L] - Sample Applications: Report Output Options

2017-02-07 Thread Tom Hart
Razz,
Your sample app worked, but I had made a very simple app to print something
and John got same results, did not print directly. He then recompiled it
and said it worked, so I tried his app but still would not print directly.
I also tried on my older laptop with same results.
This is my eep

print PR_Testreport option printer
return

This still sends it to printer screen not directly to the printer

Re: [RBASE-L] - prnsetup in XE

2017-02-06 Thread Tom Hart
Here's the details of prnsetup info
Current Printer : HP5243F1 (HP OfficeJet 3830 se

Status : Ready
Paper Orientation : Portrait
Paper Size : Letter 8 12 x 11 in
Paper Source : Main Tray
Print Quality (DPI): 600
Copies : 1
Color Mode : Color
Duplex Mode : Normal
Collation : Collation ON

I am not trying to run on a workstation. Here is what I do I compile an
rff and save it in the same folder as my working copy. If I run the rff
from R> it will print fine, but if I run the compiled rff it will not print
straight to the printer, the receipt will pop up in the print window and I
can print from there. I have been doing it this way from 7.5 thru 9.5(both
32 bit). I have now upgraded to XE(64bit).

[RBASE-L] - prnsetup in XE

2017-02-04 Thread Tom Hart
has something changed in the prnsetup in XE. I have done the following for
years
set var vprintscreen(which I can set to printer or screen)
set var vprinter(which I can set to the default printer)

print myreport option .vprintscreen

This has always sent to doc directly to the printer, but on XE it always
sends it to the screen whether my vprintscreen is set to printer or screen
