Not so. There have been many folks who have setup an 8+ speed Quickbeam simply by coldsetting the frame. I'm not saying that's the best solution, but it has be done and works fine. Still, I'd like to see a wider spaced Quickbeam, with all the braze-on fixin's for a proper internaly-geared setup

Just added a set of VO Zeppelins to my 83 Trek 850 wanna-be All Rounder. For those wondering, the fenders are the 650B size, but just happen to fit great, look great, and will allow for some taller tires down the road. The tires I have are 26 x 1.5 Kenda, but I'm hoping to find some Pasella 1.75s.
