Wash DC.

The Waterford and Taiwanese Hillbornes are quickly distinguished by the
appearance difference in the rear dropouts. The Taiwan bikes have forks
made by a Toyo trained fabricator, Waterfords are made locally, but they
look the same. Grant was clear that the quality from either location was

Well, technically Joan (who is on this list) and Tom, both Riv owners,

Hahaha .. this is funny ...
I made my stand with 7 speeds in the 90's. I bought a bunch of 7 speed
Sachs freewheels and have collected spare cogs and bodies along the way :)
I tired 8 and 9 .. I thought h why ? lolMore isn't
better ... it's just more . More shifting ...
I find the KS Salmons can get squeally too !About every 2 weeks I wipe
the pads with some window cleaner and if they appear a bit glossy I give
them a light rub of fine grit sandpaper , just enough to remove the gloss.
Then I clean the rims with the window cleaner too. Squeal gone !
I purchased a small Acorn Handlebar Bag (as well as the larger one), and
have no need for it.
Here's the link to their site:
http://www.acornbags.com/smhdlbarbag.html
It's never been used, and now it's for sale! Please contact me off list
if interested.
Thanks,
Andy

I find them more prone to squeal than other pads too. They stop
extremely well though. Cantis are prone to squeals.,That's their

and shudder on my Hillborne's front brake recently, now the rear has
started honking like a dam
My LBS showed me a great trick to get rid of brake squeal - a few
squirts from a water bottle and then ride.
Works like a charm.

I'm for sure going to give that a try Jay. That would absolutely win
prize for least amount of effort. You do have plain ole water in that
bottle?

I wasn't really serious in my suggestion, I don't think I have any
questions. That's what happens sometimes when I post my off-hand comments.
But others here might have questions. Thanks to you and your wife for
offering. Steve

Cross-posted from Internet-Bob because I know lots of Rivendell people like

similar to Campagnolo in which the
