I am taking the train from San Luis Obispo to San Diego on Monday. I can roll a bike on board for the trip down but the return trip on Friday may involve shipping the bike back in an Amtrak box. I visited Amtrak today and of course the box says remove pedals, turn handlebars and roll in box.

I will ride 85% dirt roads, 15% paved with my Hunq in northern VT. No singletrack with this machine. The dirt roads up here I think are different than those that have captivated the gravel grinding craze of late - here they are either hard packed dirt, recently graded looser fine grained dirt
