For sale: 61cm Soma Grand Randonneur V1 - Complete
Low trail 650B frame, good for randonneuring. Designed for front load.
Does not come with rack but has multiple attachment points for a front
rack. Shimano dynamo hub included.
Geometry is here:
Not enough space with P45 and 700c 32mm tires on blue Ram for my tastes.
I was thinking of trying my Honjo H50 wiith 700 x 32c and see if the high
arched Honjos offer enough room for safe tire passage.
Width would definitely be wide enough. Height is the challenge. I always
use fender nuts.
I should have mentioned earlier that I aligned and re-installed the arm
about five times, and noticed the exact same slip each time, even after
cleaning up the gouges as well as I could. All that to say, Keith: PM on
its way!

Hey Chris,
I both the Atlantis and the Homer had the swoopy TT!
Megan isn't in possession of the Clem yet, but she's very excited about it. It
really seems like a great bike for the price.

Welcome to the list, and congratulations on getting a good fit -- often an
elusive goal. Over 20 years ago Grant fixed some longstanding and vexing
fit problems I had by basically telling me to raise my bar and bring it
back, and lower my saddle and shove it back. I've not (metaphorically)

I have Honjo H50 fenders (for 32-38 tires per Compass' website) on my
Rambouillet with 700x32 Stampede Pass Els. I did switch brakes and replace
the OEM Shimano "longer reach" calipers with some Paul Racers. It all works
well.
All Riv bags gone.

To post to this group,
Lum,
I'm not sure Berthouds are going to work in either of these instances.
I've installed Berthoud fenders on 4 of my bikes and love them. I love
them so much, I coincidentally just purchased a set for my Ram which is
currently running 700x35 Schwalbe Supremes and P45 SKS fenders. Long

Hello all,
Is there a less permanent but still secure way to attach cork grips than
using the Rivendell-recommended Permatex gasket sealant? I'm also using bar
end shifters, if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance for your collective wisdom,

Dave asked for a ride comparison of the 58 Sam that I have listed for sale,
and my new 61 Roadini.
In my original post in this thread, I mentioned this:

Sure enough. I could be wrong, but i doubt it "slipped" out of the hole. It's
really easy to install them without being lined up. I've done it a dozen
times, which is why I mentioned it. I'd take a file and smooth the rough
spots, reassemble, and see if it stays in place.
If it still
Thanks! The stem is a Crust bikes fillet-brazed chromoly threadless stem.
You can't get them in this length right now unfortunately.
The shim would definitely make it look like brifters. My goal with this
build was to make a light fixed gear bike that looked classic but with all

Thanks, Doug!
Looks real nice! What kind of stem is that?
Looks like the shim would make them stick out straight like brifters.
Those bars look the same shape as the M151F I hopefully will be using. I
will have to try both ways to see which will be best for me.

It's s pretty in red, and I can verify sizing: Riv uses the ST measurement
on their sloping TT frames, which is a bit unusual in today's market. My 54
Roadini "looks small", too, because its level TT counterpart would be a 56 or
57.

Thanks Marty. A 61 it is ... maybe it's that long headtube in a solid
color that makes it look larger than it is? Dunno.
As for the red, Go 'Pack! I've always wanted a bike painted NC State
Wolfpack Red, so I talked with Rick at D Cycles about it, and he did a
wonderful job. The small

Thanks for the info, everyone.
Do you all mount them with or without the included shim for the more
forward tilt?
Anyone got pics of yours so I can see what they look like with and without
shim?
Online seems like most arenlt shimming.
I am thinking of doing mine shimmed with M151F bars.

Back when I worked at a shop in Redmond Washington we had a customer who had
done all his research on the internet about all the parts he wanted for his
bike. We ordered all the stuff & built it up according to his specs including,
you guessed it, Chris King hubs. When he picked up his bike and

Do you think the price is reasonable? Just out of curiosity, how is yours set

Hey Ben! I was at the shop the same time as you, I came in around 3:15pm
and was chatting around for a bit. Clem is a killer bike and I think Megan
made a great decision. Did you get to ride the big Atlantis with the
swooping second top tube?
