Back Alley Bike Repair located downtown built up my AHH last year and did a
great job. Free Range Cycles in Fremont used to carry a riv or two, not
sure if they still do but I'd trust them also. I bought a Surly LHT from

Just to add my experience, I have two berthoud aspins that I really like.
One is almost a year old and one is only about 3 months in. The year old
one is very very comfortable. I had a brooks b17 for about 8 years before
that and it was fine. Plenty comfortable but eventually i couldn't get the
Golden Age'r. Catch is I've never actually owned a riv but my first is on
it's way soon i hope (MIT AHH). i found riv around 2008-09. badly wanted an
AHH or an atlantis, but those were out of the budget and i settled for a
surly LHT. i wouldn't turn down a legolas, mostly due to the sweet seat
i'm on the pre-order for the MIT AHH and it will be my primary commuter,
and plan on setting it up like Grant's AHH as shown on the staff bike page-
