I had a Sam frame traded for Ram frame moved the Sam build over to Ram, no
regrets. Ram does what i like better. Sam is an awesome bike though. I never

I like the old adage "tighten it 'til it smokes".
But I isually snug very well and then do a last swoop in one movement so it
requires a little grunt at end. All smooth movements. Never jerk tight.

I have found end-to-stem cotton bartape/twine/shellac gets loose after a
year of riding for me. The twine and cotton rotates like a solid cuff when
it gets loose. Adding shellac gets it to stick to the bar again.
I have since gone to blue lizard skins and twine looks good on it, too. But
again,
I like my Lems 925 shoes but haven't ridden with them yet. Crazy cold in MD
right now keeps me off-bike. Too cold for me. I don't know how Patrick does in
in Colorado. Maybe Colorado 15 and Maryland 15 ain't the same.

And don't assume that the bar you have is the diameter it's listed as in
print. Actually look at it and read the diameter of that stamped into the bar
and then measure it with a caliper. Once I received a 25.4 mustache bar from
Rivendell. Normally that old model was 26.0. It was stamped 25.4.
Make sure the clamp diameter matches your bar diameter.

I like 38-42mm wide 650b for safety reasons.
I have fallen and been injured when using skinnier tires that got hung up in
longitudinal road and sidewalk cracks. The wide 38-42 tires dont get caught on
the cracks .They roll over.
Would have to be pretty wide for them to get stuck in a crack. More

Was wondering if a 650b canti Qbeam with 55cm or less TT was ever made.
I think only the last of the silvers were made that way, and only in 50 or 52?
