That bike is the business. Love it with the Rene Herse tires and crank. Only
thing I’d add if it was mine is a dynohub. I can’t afford any bike right now,
but that’s a good price for a Mark Nobilette made bike.

I hear ya. Now that I've been tooling around on my Roadini a few weeks, I'm
thinking I would LOVE a Roadeo.

53cm Roadeo
Bought the frame from lister. Built it up.
Usual Rivish component stuff.
Also:
40cm Nitto M151F bar.
SONdeluxwidebody/Pacenti Brevet/Sapim Race spokes/VO rear Touring hub 700c
wheels.
GB Cypress tires
Way easier to pedal down the road than any other Rivbike I have owned. Very
fast
Another word of congratulations on your beautiful bike! I have the Nitto
Jitensha bars on a 1990 Bottecchia steel road bike that I "converted" to
upright. Love the ride and the looks. Also have a VO Postino bar on a
1986 Pinarello Montello which is close in shape but not quite as high
I'd recommend the same. The bike looks very good, but IMO it deserves a
slightly more "sporty" bar.
And welcome out of the closet. I'll be interested in your opinions about
the Roadeo's ride qualities. It's one of the several Riv models I wouldn't
mind owning.
On Wed, Apr 27, 2016 at 10:12 AM,
If the Albas feel too wide maybe try the Nitto Jitensha bars. Same level of
beauty and quality with a bit more aggressive stance.

With your love of narrow bars, I think drops could work for you -- if you
get them in the correct position for your body. Have you tried drop bars
up high? A Tallux stem would allow you to place the tops above the

Long time lurker.
I came upon Rivendell’s bikes (and Grant’s writings) about two years ago
and have wanted one ever since. After selling two of my existing bikes, I

That is beautiful, Paul. With the personal touches, it is obviously a
treasure. I'm looking forward to seeing build updates and action shots.

Congrats! There's no better feeling than getting a box from Riv with the
cartoons drawn on the flaps. The frame looks awesome. Have fun with it.

Neat! Before reading the text entirely I was puzzling about that bell on
the right side -- howtheheck? etc. Me, I'd run a 1xN and put the bell on

Love the mix of modern, used and the non-Rivish items. Comes out great!

Check the site for photos of 2 new Roadeos. The orange is really eye
catching (the wheels aren't my style but...) while the black one is
positively elegant. If I'm reading it right, the black one has
Schwalbe Kojak tires - they look perfect on this bike, but I couldn't
guess at the size.
dougP
The size of the bike or the size of the tires? The Kojaks are 700X35C, but
measure about 32.5 on a Mavic Open Pro rim.

Would be cool if they offered a racy randonneur option.

Yep, I used the Riv recommended Tektro Big Mouth calipers. Hopefully,

Funny how initially I was repelled by the long necks of the threaded
