I think Chris makes a sound suggestion to save the Joe Bell paint job where
possible. That's not something easily replaced and whereas some powder-coating
gives great results, all the real craft is in wet paint.

Yes, I meant to specify a paint match on the dropouts as opposed to a
contrast. The dropout area is relatively inconspicuous and a slight
mismatch will be not super obvious. They are also subject to chips etc from
wheel removal, chain drop etc. From my experience powder coat is never as
nice as goo
Interesting idea; I certainly could get by with a st panel, but I think
that panels on the lower seatstays and aft chainstays would look weird.
I agree that the refinish will not be as nice as the Joe Bell paint but it
will be nice, and quite frankly, paint is rather low down on my list of
"must h
The Riv certainly has nicer paint than a powder coat will be. If it were me
I might just do a contrast panel on the seat tube due to the addition of
bottle bosses, likewise on the rear dropouts. Especially so because you
don't care to change the colour substantially.
