I tried getting the woman to go in on the bike with me, but no go once she
heard the price. Looks like I will just be looking at a Surly Big Dummy to
haul her around LOL

I lobbed it up there twice to the wife but no bites.
Even when I mentioned that instead of her getting an electric assist bike for
her next bike she could have a "husband assist" bike!

Blug says large size will fit up to 6'7" and I want it bad, but a
little hesitant. I already have a tandem that doesn't fit me very
well. This also needs to wait for our current house to sell before I
can commit the money. Would be a shame to pass up if it does fit but
life happens sometimes.
Make that 25! Also: Hip Hip Hooray to Ryan!

I've been on board since the first announcement. We've only been on a super
cheapo rental tandem once but enjoyed it, although the stoker does not trust me
one little bit, despite my very intentional attempts to ease her fears. She
loves her Sam, though doesn't ride it a ton. t've hedged and
Looks like we have 24 preorders!! By all accounts it looks like a go! Yahoo!!
+1 on Ryan being awesome

+1 Preorder. Wife and I have nil tandem experience but have always wanted
one. Bike looks great in the photos and deal was too good to pass up.
Hoping that orange is one of the final colors.

Curious what kind of Santana you have, and is it set up with upright bars. I
have been on the HHH list, but my circumstances have changed and I cannot
afford one. I was lucky enough to pick up a Santana Vision, circa early 90s
with 7speed bar ends and 26" wheels. I put on 2.1 Tioga powerblocks
This is such a tough call... I have a perfectly good $600 tandem
collecting dust in the garage. It gets used maybe four times a year.
And it's set up pretty nicely, seen here set up with Little Big Bens:

I am thinking of it and I have another 30 hours to decide but what is
holding me back is the added cost for living in Canada. With the exchange
rate, shipping and sales tax, I get dinged for about $2600 for the basic
frame. I have ridden tandems with my wife and we really enjoyed the
Test rode one of the prototypes a couple of weeks ago. We had a tandem
years ago so I have a bit of experience there. With the chubby rubber it
floats over rough patches. I think Riv has hit another winner. All of

The captain definitely needs to be able to stand solidly with both feet on
the ground. The stoker need not be able to straddle. If their legs are
too short for the little ones, then you can get crank shorteners that will
allow you to get an extra inch or two higher in terms of legs being able to
I hope RBW can introduce a lot of people to the pleasures of riding a
tandem. It looks like a fun bike to ride. The price is extraordinary, but
as for me, I will stick with my filet braised custom Bilenky touring tandem
and 26" wheels.

Not that I have $1,600 in my art budget, but I would love to buy one, hang
it on the wall and await he growth of my children.
However, that standover on the smallest size is just about .5 to 1.0" too
much for me to even possibly straddle, which, on a tandem, seems important.

I really wanted to get in on it but my yearly bike budget is beyond blown
and we have a big trip in the works. I was all for it at first but then
levelheadedness got the better of me ...
