Thank you. I have the invoice , but I don't think I'll give Betty up, she
is too wonderful and I think I've sorted out the problem.

Missing from the picture...frame is just a smidge large which was not a big
problem as I liked riding high till recently. I just switched to a lower
profile saddle and all is good.
Thanks for writing.

Cinza, I didn't think of this earlier, but I can easily touchdown my toes
of one foot solidly while stopped on my 60cm. Bombadil, solidly as solid
can be. I never do this though while as my locale and roads ridden don't
require any extended stops. Off road if I need to put my toes down I
Perhaps simply get used to getting off the saddle when you stop? Just a
little behavior modification.
Saddle? They are personal but I put a carved Brooks Cambium C-19 on my MIT
Atlantis and it is perfect. I had a Berthoud Aspin on it. A great saddle
but not on this frame for me.

I see. You are saying you can’t put one foot down, not both feet
simultaneously. I think there was some confusion about that. Seems like you
know plenty about riding and stopping. I’m a little mystified about how a bike
that otherwise fits would not allow for what your picture shows. What size
Had and loved that Dutch Bike.. Heavy as a cast iron stove! Love my Betty
more though, it is the queen of bikes.

It is 55...
Not sure about selling it, I'm sorting out my difficulty with touching a
toe to the ground first.

Thank you.
Not selling yet, just wondering.

You got it Patrick, knee wear and tear ;^)

FWIW, if you can pedal mid-foot instead of on your toes you can lower the
saddle considerably, allowing at least one foot to tip toe on the ground
when stopped.
If not, many european and Dutch designed city bikes are designed for a one
foot touchdown. Here's a couple links that may spark
Welcome, Cinzaw! As others have mentioned, it is difficult to get the saddle
low enough to do what you describe, at least that isn't built with slack angles
as Doug mentioned, in which case it will likely ride very differently and not
like a Rivendell. I think you may be amazed by how much
People sell such bikes here on the RBW Owner's Bunch.
If you still have a copy of the original Rivendell invoice and you have not
made any significant component changes, I would type out those line items.
The invoice will also tell you what size bike frame you have, which is
perhaps the most
Thank you. I paid over 2711 from Rivendell, nice to know I might get it
back. Grant Peterson took the order himself.
Where do people sell such bikes?
Here, Ebay, Craigslist?
Is Rivendell interested in collecting their old bikes?
Is there a good place to research sales for prices?
Cynthia
Hi cinzaw,
I suggest searching the board for comparable bikes that have been posted in
the past. Use "for sale", "Betty Foy", and "Yves Gomez" as search keywords,
and look at pricing for completes and frames. Use those prices to inform
you of how to price your bike initially, though note that
Cinzaw,
I can't give you a price. But what size is it? Might be interested once you
come up with a price.
