I had my Bleriot frame retrofitted by Bilenky before I built it up. I sprung for the wheeled hardcase, frame protectors, TSA net, and the PVC compression prevention bits. The bike has been to Europe twice, and flown domestically several times. I have never been charged for it being a bike.

I'd like to add my 2 cents in on the S S addition. I had it done on my Bleriot in 2005. It cost under $400 and included the cable spliters and coupler wrench. To get that price I agreed to give frame builder just the frame pre-prepped. That meant I had to strip the paint at the places where

I travelled to France in 2007 with my Rambo in a standard bike case and was charged $80 each way. This cost was just figured into the trip and given the total cost of the trip was not a big deal. I think for a one time or once every 5 years trip the cost of coupling is not worth it. If you
