Choices. They are wonderful but come with the cost of having to decide. Lucky for you that all the choices sound like winners. Regarding the 55cm/700c Hilsen, I agree that they are available, Keven at Riv offered it as an anternative to the 54cm/650b, which i choose instead. I suspect the

For what it's worth, a few people (including Mile at Riv, and me) have run 700c wheels with skinny tires and short reach sidepull brakes on the 650B A Homer Hilsen. I did it just for fun, for a few weeks, and I keep the 700c wheelset around as an option. Since you are tearing down another

That's like a backwards version of my Riv Road: designed for 700c/short reach brakes, fits 700x28 max. with long reach brakes, fits 650x38. Makes sense, I guess, since the Hilsen is the scion of the Road Standard Rambouillet geometry. On Fri, Aug 30, 2013 at 4:22 PM, William

Change of heart and will try the 650b route. I just need to decide which bike to get, the Hilsen or the Hillborne, but I will ask this is another thread. Thanks for everyone's input as it help me rethink my decision. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google

The Sam would be a great choice but to get the 650B you would need to go with the 51 size which might be a tiny bit on the small size. The 52 would be a better choice which is no longer available so you would need to go used. Since you wanted to save some money that might not be an issue and

FYI the two for sale may have been the same bike. I bought one the list a few years ago and then sold it on the list this spring. I think there were only a half a dozen or so 55cm AHHs made. Dan Abelson On Aug 29, 2013 2:22 PM, blakcloud blakclou...@gmail.com wrote: I know this bike is rare but

There must've been more than a half-dozen 700c 55s made, since it is a size you can order right now at the same price as any other size. On Thursday, August 29, 2013 1:07:36 PM UTC-7, Dan wrote: FYI the two for sale may have been the same bike. I bought one the list a few years ago and

William that is not what it states on the Riv site. 47-50-52-54-56-58 are for 650B wheels. 57-59-61-63-65-67-69-71 are for 700c wheels. Plus if I wanted new frame, I would have not posted here looking for a used one. A new one for me, is $2300 plus 75.00 shipping to an American address,

Yes, blakcloud, I assumed you were asking because you wanted a used one at a fair used price. I pointed out that you can order one from Riv just to dispute the assertion that very few of them were ever made. Even though the text on the description page does not list a 55, I know that they
