Slightly off topic, but Eric: what did you do to get retention with on your
Brompton? I switched to MKS folding pedals, which are a bit grippier but
they're still pretty lousy and I'm sick of having my foot slip off and
bashing myself in the heel (which happens way too frequently and definitely
offsets any flat-pedal comfort gains).

Re: [RBW] "Stop pulling up on your pedals"

2015-12-11 Thread Eric Norris
I put a pair of standard clipless pedals (Crank Bros) on my Brompton. For
day-to-day folding this doesn’t cause a problem. If I need to put it in a case,
I just have to remove the non-drive pedal, which of course no longer folds.
Takes a few seconds.

[RBW] WTT 52 Bombadil frame for a smaller size

I'm just gauging interest here. I am wondering if anyone here has a 48
Bombadil, 48 or 51 Hunqapillar, 53 or 54.5 Atlantis that they would
possibly like to trade for a first gen. double top tube Bombadil. I am
quite happy with it, but sometimes I think a smaller size frame might fit
me a little better for off-roading. I have an 80-81 PBH.

Yeah, I'm waiting to see how much it costs for good ones. Unless anyone
knows a shop that does good 4-color vinyl decals with UV resistance and
waterproofing, I'm going to try a sample first from Cafe Press, who do a
bumper sticker that'll fit two each for $3-4 plus shipping. They'll require
a little skill with an xacto knife to prepare for placement, unless enough
people prefer I just make a rectangular alternative. Once I know how much
printing at a reliable place will be, considering the demand we can work on
arranging a pool maybe and splitting them out, or I can always make the
print file available and people can order their own a la carte. Just no
selling them off to other people, I did tell Eben this was just for funsies
;)

I went to flat/platform while riding the Siuthern Tier in 2011. I got sick and
tired of "hotfoot" and have never considered going back. I have since switched
from Grip Kings to Thin Gripsters. I love them and can get off the bike and
walk normally and never have the foot pain I had with SPD and Speedplay.

[RBW] Re: What color for new bosque bike powdercoat?

2015-12-11 Thread Christopher Murray
If you get a color code you can type the code into google and get a good sample
of color swatches and things powder coated that color. Kind of a fun game. For
example RAL 1003

http://www.absolutepowdercoat.com/powder_coating_color_chart.htm

Maybe this will help?
