As Laing says, those are shims used to adapt front derailleurs with larger clamps to narrower seat tubes. If your derailleur is properly matched to the tube I wouldn't recommend using anything under it, just be judicious when tightening the clamp bolt. -- You received this message because you

IMHO and this is coming from the way I know I ride... the Cliffhangers are not a good rim for a tire in the 2.8 inch range. I have Cliffhangers on my Appaloosa running 57mm G Ones and I just don't see how a 2.8 would ride well off road (it would be terribly balloon like), especially if you are
