Be careful with the iPhone charging devices. In most cases if not all a
separate cache battery is needed to maintain a constant charge to the iPhone.
Mine would charge ok directly as long as I didn't plug it in till moving and
never stopped. Each change caused the iPhone to stop charging and

Green vs Orange, mid-fork eyelets vs none...
I dont like the look of the Quickbeam fork eyelets, and I prefer orange bikes
to green, so that's an easy one!

I wanted a Hunqapillar, but I realized it was too far out of budget. I
decided to set up my Sam a little more hardcore and get something else that
would be an All-Arounder type bike. I ended up with a Soma Double
MTB as in regular street shorts look but with shammy and made of
some rather dense stretchy fabric and with nylon belt. Rear pockets
and one side zip pocket. Don't know model, prolly an old one, but
these are as new.
$35 + shipping.
Me, I prefer my unshammy'd khaki cutoffs.

Very nice particularly given the cash outlay which I add up to $1,650
not including the bar bag and rack. Amazing what you can do on a
budget. In that regard it is much like my Fargo built from
no-shortcomings-accepted bits but none that are particularly shiny or
expensive.
Savagely yanking this
Very nice build!
I had a Double Cross far 5-6 years... a great all around bike. With 40mm
knobbies on singletrack, 32mm smooth tires did 100mile /10k
climbing century's and everything in between including week long bike
tours. The cream frame, olive bags and brown on your bike all blend
Oh well, 0 for 2 on green ones in the field having mini-rack eyelets. So I'm
probably wrong in thinking that they were stock in the last batch. However, I
do remember someone posting a photo of a new one that was made in the late
green period, and it had Hilsenish lugs and mini-rack eyelets.
Wow. Looks amazing. The cream longboards on the riv site will match that paint.
Looks like custom painted fenders.

I have a very lightly used Berthoud GB86 mini front bag for sale.
This is the Grey version with orangey brown leather. Dimensions are 10 x 6
x 5 1/2.
This comes with a shoulder strap for carrying around off the bike.
here are pics of the actual bag
Thanks guys.
Yeah, this was a bit spendy, but had to do it. Just got the okay from my
wife to get the bottom bracket and cables, but will do that just before
winter hits. Anyway, this build negates getting a Riv custom or AHH next
spring; can't justify it after all the bling.

If you can remember if you weighed it when you got it before adding

I just missed out on a green one that list member Bogester had for
sale recently. Too slow on the draw. I didn't have the eyelets, IIRC.
Leslie, good question. I would probably opt for the braze-ons. It can
always be repainted. Nothing wrong with the green, it's just that I

Unanimous consensus for no grease, which makes sense, especially when Jim
pointed out the extra leverage of the a-bars. Maybe beeswax/lanolin for
galvanic corrosion, or maybe not.

It's not a shameless copy, it's the same bag. Frost River stole the design
