Agree. Little too big for me, but would be hard to resist if it were a 56.

Ooh,I love that color. It's definitely a custom-level Nobilette, it has the
fancy lugs and bottle-boss stars. Not my size or I'd be picking it up tomorrow!

Still looking for a Brooks B68 saddle in new/newish condition, preferably
in Black. I have a Brown Brooks Flyer in excellent condition (riden less
than 50 miles) that I would be willing to trade if anyone is interested.
Thank you.
Equinox. Very pretty nonetheless, and makes me jealous. It's already snowing,
here in Wyoming. :-(

Grey definitely benefits from the parts and stuff being on the frame. I had a
pewter Saluki that practically changed color in my eyes after I'd built it up.

I moved to SF last week and am reworking my Joe. I enjoyed having this
large Saddlesack but find it unwieldy for regularly taking on & off and too
precious to leave on the bike in the city. Swapping to a smaller QR
saddlebag and front basket setup.
Bag has seen regular use since March-ish.
You're allowed to like a color I don't. Although yours *does* look better to my
eye with the bar tape. Mark at Riv is into flat grey, too.

Here's my ugly gray and cream Atlantis. The gray is the same that was used
on the Hunq. Replacing the cream with burgundy was an additional charge
beyond the extra for the gray. At least the bar tape is burgundy:-)

Panaracer Col de la Vie are pretty cheap - around $20 each if you look.
You can often find them second-hand as well. I've had a pair lying around
since forever that I'll never use but have not sold because they are too
expensive to ship and are a bit of a ho-hum tire anyways.

We've built up tandems for road touring and brevets, all in Rivendell
style. Your list is good. Correct on the rear hub. The biggest cost drivers
on a tandem are cranks – we like Sugino XD-tandem specific with TA Zephyr

We like White Industries hubs though they
RBW Owners,
I have been thinking of getting a tandem, and the latest announcement of a
few more HHH available has me wondering how much beyond the $1800 I'll put
into components. AFAICT, the differences versus a "normal" single build
are...
1. Don't have to buy a seatpost
2. Or a headset
Any interest in frame or parts? I had son interest in the wheelset already.

I never cared for the blue when I saw the photos online. However, when I
saw one in person it was a very different opinion. Really like it! Kind
of a soft and pleasing shade of blue.

Can you post a photo of the saddlesack/captain's seatpost/stoker's
handlebars area? I've been looking for a bag for the HHH stoker, but have
been thinking the small saddlesack was too big.

I seem to remember them (the nobillete protovelos) selling at $1100. I
currently have two - a 650b Saluki-esque frame and a 700c
Rambo/Hilsen-esque frame. They are terrific bikes, especially for prototype
builds. I think there is a lot of confusion surrounding what they should
be worth -
a friend of mine has a green rambouillet in 56 which he got from me.
it is a sweet bike
I went to a 54
do you want to get in contact with him?

Assuming he'd take an e-pay on it see if he'd drop it off at a LBS. Then
work w/ the LBS directly for packing and shipping. I've done that
successfully on 4 bikes I've purchased from CL in other states.

Pacenti Pari-Motos are $36 each from Boulder Bicycle. They're quite thin,
so they're very light and fast but also a bit flimsy.
In my mind, they provide a ride very close to a Compass tire at half the
price (but less durability).

Scott asked if any of my 10(11) bikes are uprights. He also asked if I still

Yes and Yes.
