They ride well on the road but I wouldn't say they are optimized for that
obviously. There is very little noise as you usually get from knobbies. I'm
planning to buy more 'supple' tires for it soon, maybe a set of Compass
Switchback Hill, not sure yet.

IF I sold my new Clem L I would buy this Sam Hillborne as I ride mostly
road miles and this would suit me better. The Clem is so nice though for
all around riding on multiple surfaces. Alas, I bought what was available
new from Rivendell at the time. The new photos do present the bicycle well.
