[RBW] Re: Fattest Tire on a QB?
Ive also run BG Rock n Roads on my Simpleone with plenty of clearance. Really the only limiting factor are my Paul mini Vs. One thing to take into account is I believe the tire clearance gradually increased on different batches of the QB and the SO had the most clearance yet. -Hudson in ATX On Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 1:56:41 PM UTC-5 robert.har...@gmail.com wrote: > Hi everyone -- > > I recently saw a post on Instagram (which I have subsequently lost track > of) that showed a QB rocking Ultradynamico 700ccs (I think they were the > Rosè racers). > > As I am in the market for some new rubber I thought -- WOWZA -- that would > be fun. [RBW] PSA: 56cm SimpleOne Complete on Ebay
I have and love a 56cm SO. It is odd that they rarely come up for sale, but my estimation has always been that they are less sought after than quickbeams. [RBW] Question about running fenders on a SimpleOne or Quickbeam
I have fenders on my Simpleone. I'm able to remove/reinstall the wheel while the tire is not inflated. I've been running this set up with a pretty decent, traditional fender arch for the past several years with no issues. Re: [RBW] Next Bomba Tire
Joe, No fenders with the burts. There's decent clearance, but I wouldn't say enough to safely run fenders over the knobby tires. I think switchbacks plus fenders would be the ticket for the best all around set up. Hopefully I'll end up with that set up eventually. In the meantime if fall starts to get wet I may throw on a clip on fender just to keep from ruining my shorts. Plus one on the thunder burt recommendation. Love em. Replaced compass babyshoe pass on my elephant NFE and the difference in speed is hardly noticeable, but the improvement in comfort over bumps is distinct. Compared with compass at least I've found them to be quite long wearing all the things considered. All that being said once these wear out I may make the change to compass switchback hills. [RBW] Re: Need advice for avoiding embarrassing Brooks saddle stain...
I've also had a few stains as mark describes. Almost like bleach spots from the copper rivets in a semicircle. Thought it was a kind of funny sign of how much I ride in certain shorts. Another interesting note from my experience, I have had a couple black brooks saddles that left marks after most rides in light pants. A few years ago I got a b17 select, which I have to say is a fantastic quality saddle. The undyed leather was supposed to prevent saddle stains and it did for a while, but over years of use its almost as dark as the brown brookses and will now leave stains on my light colored pants. Just from all the sweat and grime that's been rubbed into the saddle over the years. I've found riding with a saddle cover to be just fine in most circumstances. The only real difference I've noticed is its a little more difficult to slide around on the saddle, which is one of my favorite things about a brooks. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. As I understand it, it's possible to make a supple disc fork, but very difficult in a production setting. Glen had special mounts machined locally to keep the fork as compliant as possible. [RBW] Noodles to Albastache stem length?

[RBW] Re: The Rivendell Bike Weight Thread
unfortunately i don't have a scale at home, but when i picked up my simpleone from the bike shop once the mechanic said, it's lighter than i expected. ha. that seems like a win to me! although i assured him that was only because the medium saddesack and wald basket were empty. -hudson in atx On Tuesday, August 5, 2014 8:20:41 AM UTC-5, David Spranger wrote: Okay, here is my (surprising to me) results on my three Rivs: 63 cm AHH ~32 lbs with Woody's Fenders, Brooks B17 Select saddle, Nitto M12 front rack, Tubus Cosmo rear rack, Bosco Bullmoose bars, IRD/Silver thumb shifters, SP dynamo hub and Phillips lights, VO Raid rims, VO Grand Cru Touring hub on rear wheel, Sugino Triple crank, Schwalbe Marathon Supreme 35 tires, Thin Gripster pedals. 62 sm SimpleOne ~26 lbs with VO Zepplin fenders, Brooks B17 saddle, Nitto Mini front rack, Carradice Bagman saddlebag support, Mustache bar, Sanyo Dyanamo with BM Cyo/Seculite lights, VO Raid Rims, VO Grand Cru flip/flop rear hub, VO Grand Cru crank with 46t ring, Schwalbe Little Big Ben tires, Thin Gripster pedals, Civia chainguard. 60cm Rambouillet ~26 lbs with VO Hammered fenders, VO Model 6 saddle, VO Randonneur front rack, Carradice Bagman saddlebag support, 48 cm Noodle bar, IRD/Silver stem shifters, Shimano 3N80 Dynamo hub with BM Cyo/Seculite lights, VO PBP rims, Shimano 105 rear hub, VO Grand Cru crank with 46t/30t rings, Schwalbe Kojak tires, MKS Grip King pedals. [RBW] Re: My RBW Sam stock build FSA headset should last how long?
Fwiw I had a similar creaking on my simpleone, but when I swapped from soma hwy one bars to albastaches the creaking went away. No adjustment to the headset at all. [RBW] Paul's brakes on your Riv. Experience between models?
I've had pretty good luck with Paul touring cantis on my simpleone. The power and modulation is great. My only qualm has been battling squeal from the front break. A neo or mini moto on the front would be nice. Although the tire, fender clearance of the mini moto does concern me. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] Re: Anyone using a Saddlesack on a porteur rack?

[RBW] Quickbeam Squeal and Brakes
I have a simpleone and have experienced a good amount of squealing from the front brake with my Paul touring cantis. I've found that the most extreme toe in possible helps for a while. [RBW] Re: Quickbeam Tire and Gearing Recommendations
On my simpleone I run 40x18 for general loaded commuting. If I were riding further and on more dirt I'd run a slightly lower gear. For tires I run marathon supremes with fenders, but for dirt I'd run either clement xplors or rock n roads if they fit, which I have seen fit on another simpleone. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] On-bike tools: what is your choice or favorite?
One thing I've found very useful to carry is a small multi tool like the leatherman squirt or the like in addition to a bike multi tool.
