Hi Leah. Did you grow while you were away? The boots you *would* grab? I'd keep 'em real close from here on out. In fact you may want to sleep in them. You are right, though, an all-out sprint from a zombie or two would render the Twofish inoperable in no time. But then, you don't want to be

The tires in this photos are Clement Xplor 40s, I've had Compass 38s, which will also permit fenders easily, and right now it has 42 Somas. With releases at the cable hanger and also at the lever, no need to deflate even the biggest tires. I really like the vintage Dia Compe/Weinmann, and I

Mark in Beacon - AFAIK, the prime motivator for canti brakes vs long-reach sidepulls is fender clearance (ameliorated by switching to long-reach centerpulls, as you suggest. An additional motivator would be better brake feel due to the long, flexy arms of long-reach sidepulls or DC centerpulls

But Mark, you don’t understand. The dream Cheviot HAS to have two bottle mounts because the Dream Cheviot is the world’s most over-prepared bike. At least according to The Book of Leah, it is. The bike would have dyno lighting and the heaviest-duty racks and giant Wald baskets and Sackville

As long as it fits my 650b x 41 Fatty Rumpkins I'm happy. It may be a tad snug with fenders, but I'm thinking of running roadie-style clip-on/pop-off mudguards anyway 'cause it's dry here most of the year. Also, I'm not a big fan of adding brake stresses to a frame in areas it wasn't designed

How much more tire would that get you, front and rear? The specs say it can take a 650B/45 or a 700c/50. That is a ton o' tire. If you really need more, brake reach is listed as 65 (Tektro 559?), but if you went with Dia Compe 750 centerpulls, would that get you more height (which I assume is
