Sounds like, from today’s email, that they will be in both 25.4 and 31.8.
I’m excited about them, too. The many Rivendell upward and back swept bars
will benefit from a better stem ‘foundation!’
Today, Thursday, temps in Berkeley continued to be in the 60s. Sky not so
yellow/orange but dim and murky.
Bad part is that the Air Quality Index started out "Unhealthy"
(particulates -- PM2.5 -- at 150 to 195) in the early AM and by 5:00 this
evening had climbed into the "Very Unhealthy"
It is longer than the not-Hillibikes! For comparison, I have Ash's original
51 MIT Appaloosa. Susie has a longer wheel base than the JoeA, along with
longer other dimensions:

*Joe Appaloosa* 51 cm

My 53 measures 65.2 cm to top of adjustable race from the hub's axle. (So,
no spacer or locknut.)

*Measure from center of seat tube to center of head tube, if that makes
sense.*
I get a little longer measurement, in my very cramped basement workshop, so
bike may not have been quite level. Actually its not likely as the front
tire is a 650 x 60 (2.35") G-One and the rear is a 650 x 70

Paul,
Still finishing up my 53 Susie but it’s done enough to give you some
measurements of head tube versus seat tube heights:
The head tube itself is 23 cm long but I don’t have a Clem L for
comparison. (It is 7 cm longer than the head tube of my 51 Appaloosa.)

They look like V-brakes to me. You can see the noodle in the front cable
line. And, a side pull doesn't easily work in the rear because of the cable
routing to the brake arm with the housing stop. That Saddlesack would get
in the way.
I don't recognize the brakes -- TRP?

A question about bottom brackets for the Susie Longbolts:
I got a Tange LN-3922 73 x 127 bottom bracket cartridge for my Susie. I
wasn’t thoroughly reading the comments that mentioned this BB was
recommended ... for a Rivendell Silver crank. However, I’m using an older

Magnificent! A highly mobile art piece!
I must buy one of these bikes just to prominently display the head badge.
And, for my own viewing pleasure.
Thank you Olivier!

Acorn Bags has an elegant solution to the problem: A cylindrical leather
stand-off and strap.

One of the few of their products that is *not* sold out.
You could do the same with a toe strap and a piece of PVC pipe, as Patrick

Thanks, Jim!
Nice to be able to clearly see the sender’s address in iPhone landscape
view rather than having to search my email for earlier posts from that
sender’s “handle” to connect an email address.

The second iteration is particularly striking: Grilver, the two bags and
