Hi Bob,
I didn't want to confuse a highly technical topic with the FM/PM thingagain. Personally, I find it easier to think of angle modulation in terms of frequency as opposed to phase.
Sure, me too - - maybe most of us on the list. That's probablybecause we'reused to thinking in terms of
Has anyone used the PacComm EWM modem for repeater telemetry ? if so
does anyone have a manual etc for it ? How well does it work ?
Thanks for any help

How many elements in your antenna? I found at least 8 elements are needed
before
the SWR is low. I used a 1/4 wave stub instead of the open balun seen on
some designs and hobby brass to construct the elements. I found brass
easier to
use than coax for UHF. Check out Kevin's article. It's
We have successfully used the white marine epoxy used in repairing
and
refinishing boat hulls. If you are worried about the urban legand
of
the pigment being metallic, paint a plasiic container with it, let
it
harden, then put it in the microwave oven and nuke it. If it
burns
up dont use it.
I never said to use a Tx to put 500kW into a Rx. But may be running
nearby on a dummy load...

Hi Joe
Using hobby brass as you have .
I have not tried the 1/4 wave stub as of yet.Read
Kevins article-before.
All these designs seem to backed up for a VSWR and
that is why my question-low imp feed with first
element 1/4 or first element 1/2 wave.
Thanks Brad

Looking for CB Universal mounting brackets.
Right angle brackets with a hole and a slot.
Radio Shack quit stocking them. Do you know of a site?
I want to mount radio control heads at the museum.

I am building a repeater with two TK840's. Where can I get a case so I can
put a power supply , the two radios, mobile duplxer, and the controller in
it so I may make it portable. Also, is there a case front to adapt the 7.1
power supply to the 5.6 kewood radios.
Thank you very much.
Darin,
You may wish to consider one of the aluminum light poles used by the
utility company.

Darin, get two ten foot sections of used tower sections at a swap.
The bottom and top elements are 1/4 wave in coax. The quarter wave stub and
top radiating
element measure a quarter wave in air. The quarter wave stub, which is just
a piece of solid wire,
connects from the bottom of the lower quarter wave coaxial element (shield)
to the
shield of the 50 ohm
