I don't know if you get Mission Critical, but Nextel is involved in a very
expensive Rebanding Agreement by order of the FCC to the tune of a few
Billion Clams, also word on the street is may be a expensive court fight in
there also. it's kind of a wait and see what happens next, FYI everyone.

Say Tom;
I talked to a out of work tech
last summer he mentioned the OK area, apparently your area seems to have some
GR8 advantages down there as to Radio Range, up here in Michigan hills (
Winter Skiing , Snowmobiling ) sometimes flat sometimes not. I guess that
makes up for lost
I have
a commercial repeater in Sweetwater, Texas and it works well. Somewhat
prone to skip but not much in the way of other companies on the same channel so
even that is a minor problem.

It's a private party and the
tower is only 300' on a pretty average hill, not really what you'd call
a hill top site by any stretch. I don't know how long the license has
been in effect, but yes, there are still 330 watt licenses. We service
two Sheriff Offices on high band with those
There isn't much discussion about simlex repeaters, but I was wondering if
anyone has the pinouts for a SR-7100 Simplex Repeater by Interconnect
Specialists. Google search didn't come up with anything useful.

That may be true, but the TKR-720 and -820 repeaters are desktop units
that run on 120 VAC:
http://www.jkcomm.com/pdf/TKR-720N-820N.pdf
The poster's question concerned only 13.8 VDC repeaters, of which the
TKR-750 and -850 are typical.

go, I don't know for sure. I can check at the local electronics store here
(not Rat Shack) and see if they have them or can get them.

Local fire dept. uses a low band repeater 45.10 in and 46.08 out with tone. Has been up for 10 or 15 years. Works good in the mountains of Colorado.

Our group here in Utah has a low band 6 Mtr Amateur
repeater on top of a 9,000 Ft mountain. It uses a 1
Mhz split on 53.15 output and 52.15 input. The Radio
is a GE MastrII and we built a band pass band reject
Duplexer out of 4 DB products cavities. The antenna is
a modified Celwave omni. You can
Some time ago I remember seeing a discussion about a
recording program that runs on a personal computer to
record the audio from a repeater. Can some one direct
me to where I can find this information?
I have searched the messages and have not found it.
Thanks,
John, K7JL
There's a program called Total Recorder that might do
what you want. I forget the name of the company,
but I put a link to it off of the very last entry on the
Tech Info and Downloads page at www.repeater-builder.com

Is it possible, that it was a case of too many hands trying to make it work

240W soldering gun?
The slugs were loose, they needed to be tightened?
The reset beep was the wrong tone, the repeater had to be modified to fix it?

John,
I use a program call scanrec. It works well.. It gets rid iof the white
space in between transmissions, you can select different codecs ( so you
can select quality vs disk space), and gives you a time log of
events. all for the price of 0 cents
http://www.davee.com/scanrec/index.html
Well for what it is worth maxtracs are very inexpensive just turn the power
down and add a 12 volt fan on the radios. I have a crossband and a uhf repeater
built with these, they are only temporary repeaters but have never failed me or
search rescue, yet the 1225 repeaters do have a kick ass
I currently have 52.780 / 52.280 running 75 watts low level for about a 25 mile
raduis in San Diego Ca the county also runs a couple of 37 meg and a 45 meg
repeater for a wide area system. the chp is using a 42/39 meg repeater in san
diego county also.

Hi John
There is a website www.sagebrush.com which has a voice controlled soundcard
type recorder called RecAll. It is designed for use with scanners etc.
It should work well with a repeater. You can down-load a working demo
version.

You have a very good choice if you go with the Kenwood
TKR750
for VHF or TKR850 for UHF, they have allrady a conector for
DC
operation and better yet it can be taken of the 19" rack and
it
goes to a very small "black box", has enough power output,
good
receiver and there is all kind of
