We had 'PL' capability 35 years ago and were using it then.

Due to the lack of response I am going to guess that this is a dead issue.
Thank you for the bandwidth and consideration. If anyone thinks of
anything or can refer me to another resource please let me know. Your
assistance is greatly appreciated.
No I will not be attending Dayton, but y'all have
Not every radio user appreciates a simplex repeater, since all listeners
hear every transmission twice. That gets old, really quick!
True, but there are instances where a SR makes sense. Quick deployment for low
volume comms is one. Rescue ops, public service events, etc...

Highest on my trip so far was Shoshone, CA (near Death

Ow! They were always high, but 1.5x NA?! That's highway robbery!

Using a different tone in and out will help with hearing transmissions
twice, but the user will still have to get accustomed to the delay.

Anybody got used SCOM/5K /7K they'd be willing to part with?
Bob is working on the 7330 that will be a true 3-port controller.
Any combination of three repeaters and remote bases and links...
Yes, that means that you could have nine separate courtesy

A simplex repeater controller connected to a radio set for split operation
(different TX and RX freqs) CAN eliminate the problem of hearing everything
twice, at the expense of being careful not to double on the input freq. and
having a delay between RX and TX. HTs or mobiles programmed reverse

I wouldexpect that Dayton attendance will be down significantly again this year, much more than the last few years due to the increased gas prices.

Fellas,
Please re-read my posting. My statement was concerning the ability of a radio
to encode one CTCSS tone and decode a different CTCSS tone. I have a number of

channel, and the same tone is used for both TX
The specs and size remonds me of the opek uvs-200 and uvs-300.
Similar models exist from greaterland...basically made in Taiwan if I recall
correctly.
Do these come as 2 and 3 piece units such that you have to connect internals
before you attach the sections together ?

The RadioShack HTX-212 and HTX-242 could also do split tones as well as the Icom 706MKIIG. My Vertex VX-10's as well has the capability to have split PL tones if needed.

The frequency response of a 2 way communications system is well within the
frequency response of one of the 8 KHz sample rate ChipCorders. The only
decisionwould beto select the longest possible message time.
The ISD1416 gets you 16 seconds, the ISD2560 gets you 60 seconds. Both of
these

Jon,
That's correct. They are 2 and 3 pieces that screw together with a bell type
furrel. Unlike most ham grade antennas though, the bell is oriented properly to
keep the water out.

Fellows,
I have 1 extra ticket to the Dayton Hamvention starting tomorrow. The
first person to offer $25 for it gets it. That's the same as it would
cost you at the door, without having to stand in line for hours.
