Hello All
I've had a MastrII low band receiver (29.540) on the air for close to 10
years now with no issues. It's been very sensitive and breaks squelch at
around .17uv.
Recently, after a lightening storm, the receiver went deaf. I went to
the site thinking that the antenna might have got
Hello,
I just received a HP8924C Monday. Wednesday, I was able to get the RF
Analyzer to scan frequencies and lock onto the transmitter output. I changed
something and can no longer get the RF analyzer section to scan. It just
stays at the frequency set in the tune frequency box. It does
Im looking for elements 151.880 or other MURS channels.
Thanks,

I would try to sell them and buy a Micor or Mastr II repeater. But that is
only due to knowing it would be less work and I am basically lazy. :)

Replace the FET that is in the helical casting. on the RF Pre-selector
board. It is a 2N4416, Radioshack carries the MPF-102 as a readily
available substitution. I'd use a J-310 if you have one.

Make sure you have the RF Input field set to the right connection, RF
I/O or Ant and leave the tune mode on auto.
Be sure to save settings to POWERON when done.

That's the most-likely cause (wrong input).
Other thing is that once the squelch opens, it will no longer auto-hunt if
memory serves. Make sure the squelch is closed (and, if you haven't
already, make sure you're on FM DEMOD in the AF Analyzer screen).

I can confirm 100% that that is true and should be available late this year.
Much better receiver and transmitter an all around repeater. Dlr cost is
about $1300 for an upgrade and you can retro fit the old units to work as
well. Oh ya.

Brian,
Why would you pause, hell the MTR is about as good as they get. Light it up
at a 100watts and go on vacation and will still be working years from now.

There's no way to convert a single one into full-duplex
operation. But you could use one for the receiver and another for the
transmitter.
