When setting the power level on a maxtrac, do you set for the power level at

I was watching Dark Knight (The new batman Movie) last night, which

I need some suggestions.
It seems that my users that have newer Motorola Astro series radios
have a problem on my Micor UHF repeater where the PL does not always
open up their radios. It seems that it's only Astro type radios that
have the problem.
I have the PL Deveation set at 1K. It's
Ok, I have been radio plagued this past week.
I have a 40W UHF Maxtrac that has a bad pa. Look in the photos
section, you can where I found a burnt spot and a missing piece across
the legs of the transistor. The piece fell out and is charred beyond
reconigition.
That's problem 1.
Second, I have
In an effort to expand radio coverage for an event coming up- we have
done the following:
System is a 7330
port 1- Local Micor repeater
port 2- Link radio half duplex to another repeater
port 3- link radio half duplex to another repeater
System is normally port 1 2 and it works great.

I have a UHF (D44) 40w 449-470 maxtrac on the bench. All checks out
good, except power out. Most I can get out of it is 22 watts, and that
happens at 92 on the adjustment scale, any values above 92 yield no
difference in power output.
Here is the strange thing- I get more out (22W) at 441.300,
Does anyone know, or has anyone tried, to use 2 control
heads/faceplates on one Maxreac radio?
I am outfitting an old ambulance into a communications vehicle and
would like to use one radio with a control head/mic in the front and
the back rather than needing 2 radios.
Thanks!

This may bit a bit OT, but If I post on any of the Digital groups I
will be flamed by pro-Dstar guys to no end...
I was sitting in the library (you know - the one with the brite white
shiny furnature?) this morning reading the latest QST and checking
out the review on the ICOM RC-9500
This is a bit off-topic, but I thought it would be important to get
the word out as life safety is involved...

However those models are discontinued. The new model- 12-262, is
basically the same, but there are some differences. Has anyone tapped

Does anyone know if the Mitrek group is dead? Last time I posted over
there it took a while for it to come through, and I posted again 3-4
days ago and it has yet to come through. I don't want to tie up this

Thanks For Any Info!

Does anyone have a pdf of the manual for a CE-5? How about a service
manual? The signal generator of mine seems to have become sick, the
tone audio sounds almost like its motorboating, but the 1k tone is
clean coming right out of the unit. The Signal level is way down as
well. Any Ideas?
I just wanted to way thank you to all who have helped me with my
repeater project, and I just finished up a webpage about the system
that everyone is welcome to check out! www.waldofar.org Without the
groups help it may have never got off the ground!
Thanks Again!

Waldofar Repeater
I have a converted motorola mitrek repeater installed at a water
tower. It runs up appx 150' of 7/8 andrews heliax to a DB-420. It has
been playing happily for several months. In the last few days we have
been getting a noise of some sort only on recieve, not on the talk
out. It is only
I am finishing up my uhf repeater buildup, and I made up some 1/4
superflex jumpers from the radio (Converted mitrek) to the duplexer
to replace the crummy ones I am using now (One is a RG-8, the other
an RG-8M,lots of adapters and everything, yuk!). The connectors on
the radios are so-239,
I am in need of the right adapter cable to go from the test set to a
mitrek mobile. Test set is model S1056C. If anyone has one they are
willing to part with or knows where I can get one that would be very
helpful!

As per recommendations on this group I have settled on a DB-408 for
my new UHF repeater project. My problem is I keep running into dead
ends in locating one, new or used, to buy cut for the ham band. I
talked to Andrews to see if I could persuade them to build me a one-
off for 440 but hey
I'm about to put up a Converted Mitrek mobile 440 repeater and am
wondering if a preamp would be a worthwile experiment, and if so what
manufactuer/model do you recommend. The radio does not have the
factory preamp option installed.
Thanks!
