I was told the following things: 440 Mhz is too high of a frequency to be in an elevator room Well, they've got you there. NFPA and the elevator code says that nothing can be stored inside of an elevator room other than equipment directly relating to the operation

How big is your repeater? When I had a problem once with a UHF system in a mini-mall I just hid it in the celing. Luckly there was a outlet up there, your mileage may vary. Pro is you no longer pay site rent, Con is when it breaks, it stays broken. Also mention that his equipment must not create

I see nothing in the NFPA book about that, it just says the elevator stuff needs to be in a secure room. Don't know what good that would do ya, but thats what I see. I have heard of an elevator code somewhere before, but I wouldn't know where to find it, plus it is subject to local codes and

Best to cut your losses. Start talking about another location at the building. If they won't, then the real reason is that they want you out of there. I think there may be a code violation with it in the elevator room, but you could check with your local building inspector to be sure. But

I really think that it is a load of crap. There is a group in the area running a 100watt UHF and a 100watt VHF repeater side by side in an elevator room at one of the local malls. Sounds like the service guy is just being an as*.Andy Yahoo! Mail Use Photomail to share photos without

Not that I'm against you, but I can see some technical reasons why it could cause a problem. Elevator control systems are no longer just a wall of clickety-clack relays with arcing contacts. They use microprocessors and low-voltage signalling. Reasonably strong RF could obscure the signals, or
