At least it is hardline. They used to use a lot of heavy aluminum
hardline many years ago. I had a chunk, back in the 70's, that I never
got around to using. Biggest hassle was it would have been a bear getting
a PL259 on the stuff.
The 7/8 Heliax I have is copper...

I would much rather work with hardline at this point. Other than the bulk
of the connectors and being much stiffer, the 7/8 Heliax will be far
easier to put connectors on.
Let's hope they don't make it New and Improved! as well

current military specifications, and I was surprised to note that a new
version of RG-214/U cable has arrived. This new version has a one-mil thick
polyester tape with an aluminum coating that wraps around the outer
