Play it safe dude
buy a 2 foot piece of either 1/2 or 3/4 inch PVC and an End cap
drill a hole in the End cap. Place a 4 long 1/4-20 Bolt through the hole in
the cap. Tighten up the bolt with Nuts and washers.
Put end cap on End of 2 foot tube
place a Length of wire and Clip Onto this Bolt.
Stick with fiberglass. Why are you probing the anode of a klystron??

Thats what I use, an old bicycle safety flag stick cut off to what ever
length I need. They are very close to .250.

How about the shaft from a bicycle flag? Also, I've seen driveway
reflectors at Lowes that have fiberglass shafts for about $2.
If it were me, I'd put a Megger on them to make sure they don't conduct.
You never know if they might have some carbon fiber added for strength.
